djinn @ 124

Saint Brigid,

The nepotism charge has to be seen as a lashing out from a grandiose, deeply misogynistic, furious VP who has basically promised Iraq on a silver platter to Big Oil (Energy conference of 2001).

You’re right. It’s not rational. Translated into Cheney-ese it probably goes something like this: “That candy ass Wilson was sent by his so-called “spy” wife on a fool’s errand just to discredit Me, the Ruler of the Universe! How DAAAAARE they!” or something like that.

Exuuuse me….Nepotism?

Just who did the President Appoint to be his Special Asst. on the Bush-Cheney Re-Election Committee??? [Hint youngest “soon to be a mommy” daughter of VP Cheney]

And who was appointed the State Departments Ass’t. Secretary for Iraq Reconstruction??? Who is this (daughter of VP Cheney) married to???

And just who was sitting for years on the program Counterpoint and the head of several Conservative “Morals” based organizations??? Who just played attack dog against Hilary Clinton???
****
Didn’t we just have Libby’s Special Secretary on the stand…just who is her husband???

Does being the wife of FCC Director Martin make one a Martinette? ;-)

Christy Hardin Smith @ 33

Nice that the Bush Administration has a specific protocol for spreading classified information:

“There’s a very strict protocol when classified info is spread, my experience, when someone conveyed info that I was authorized to hear, it was always, “this is classified you’re authorized to hear.” When it’s oral, people always say, “this is classified you cannot use it.”"

Lovely. Just lovely.

And just what sort of classified information would a Press Secretary be authorized to hear? Is a Press Sec’ty on a “need-to-know” basis for any classified material.

Does Ari have a Security Clearance???

Dem-agog at 130 — Federal courtrooms do not allow cameras, so the trial could not be televised. Frankly, I like it better that way — less showboating for the teevee, although it would be great to be able to watch this live, I’ll grant you that — but from a legal practice standpoint, I think we are all much better off leaving the cameras out of the court.

VP = Valerie Plame
VP = Vice President

Confusing. (Frankly, I’m confused by this whole trial….!)

Why isn’t this trial on CourtTV? Was it requested and turned down by the judge?

[…] The AP and other sources say Fleischer testified that his lunch with Libby was on June 7, 2003, but apparently the correct date was July 7. (Which Firedoglake confirms here.) […]

djinn and strawhat:
Yeah I think you guys are right–I can see how placing bleeding horse heads inside 1000 tct sheets in beds all over town would have been a logistic nightmare!

I am older and new at this computer and internet stuff, so I hope I am doing this right. Just want to say thank you for being at this trail to represent us forgotten average Americans who crave the truth from our elected officials.

I think the “nepotism” excuse is just that — an excuse. They were punishing Wilson for pointing out the admin’s lies by trashing his wife’s covert operation & endangering her life (and who knows how many others) — and showing everyone else in town what happens to people who try to stop them from doing what they want. It was a message to insiders. For the rest of the world, they said “nepotism.”

That’s my guess.
