Oh, the stupid. It burns.
Sometimes you wonder how right-wing bloggers like Michelle Malkin keep from getting lost in the bathtub. Do their more intelligent spouses and family members draw them maps on the bath tiles with a Sharpie? When people are so ideologically blinkered and hard-headed to the point that they will deny evidence that's right before their eyes, you have to wonder just how they keep from hurting themselves on a daily basis. With things like electrical outlets, butter-knives, and puddles of water right there in their general environment, are they ever truly safe from themselves?
See, Michelle Malkin and some dorky accomplice of hers decided that they were going to go to Iraq and show once and for all how the Associated Press has been distorting the facts on the ground, making up phony witnesses, and lying and distorting the situation over there, which has in turn demoralized the American people and, by dint of several thousand US citizens simultaneously ceasing to clap their hands and believe in fairies, completely lost us the war. It's all the liberal media's fault, you see, that things aren't going well over there. And Michelle and her Li'l Buddy were going over there to prove it.
Undaunted and unbowed in the face of their first big "exposé" getting its legs shot out from under it by the truth, this intrepid pair of "citizen journalists" soldiered on to debunk the Next Big Mainstream Media Lie. They settled on the following report from the AP in November:
Earlier that day, rampaging militiamen burned and blew up four mosques and torched several homes in the capital's mostly Shia neighborhood of Hurriyah, police said. Iraqi soldiers at a nearby army post failed to intervene in the assault by suspected members of the Shiite Mahdi Army militia or subsequent attacks that killed a total of 25 Sunnis, including women and children, said police Capt. Jamil Hussein.
So, Malkin and entourage go to the mosque, shoot some footage, and then hastily cobble together a big "Gotcha!" video to post at Malkin's multi-media vanity project, "Hot Air". It's called "Hurriyah Mosques: Still Standing" and in it, Malkin fatuously declares that she's about to offer you, the viewer, concrete indisputable proof that the AP is lying about everything in Iraq. They said that four mosques were "destroyed", she maintains (they didn't), and look! Look at the mosque! It looks great!
And the camera pans over to show us this:

(Fig 1-b: Courtesy of those rapscallions at Sadly, No!)
Uh, okay, Michelle. You're absolutely right. Clearly that mosque is the picture of health. Never been better. That's just their new skylight, which they put in when they decided the place needed more natural light. Not "destroyed", you see. Just…"forcibly remodelled", let's say. Decorating with rocket-launchers is the latest thing in Iraq. It's not a Civil War, no, it's just one giant sectarian episode of "Trading Spaces".
And that's their big scoop. The mosque is not a pile of radioactive glass fragments, so therefore, everything you know about the War in Iraq is a lie!
Now, clap your hands and shout, "I do believe in Islamofascists! I do, I do, I do!"
Do it! Or the War in Iraq will die, kids!
The Malkin Mobius Moron Strip
So anyway, Sadly No! was all like "Malkin you are so busted" but then that guy who hangs around with Michelle at her locker and stuff, (but he's not like her "boyfriend", eww, ick) he's all:
I see that our friends at Sadly, No! can’t distinguish between a mosque having a hole in an onion-shaped thing on top and that mosque being destroyed, as the AP reported on Nov 24. That failure to distinguish between such widely varying descriptions should guide you if you read anything else published there. (snip)
But then Michelle shows up and she's all:
Tellingly, the pathetic, attempted debunker fails to link to either my post at mm.com or my full report at the NYPost, which give the full details and nuance (plus more photos) of what we found versus what the AP reported (and didn’t report). There is now an all-too-predictable attempt to distort our reports. Read. Them. In. Their. Entirety. For. Yourselves.Where she says:
WELL, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior says disputed Associated Press source Jamil Hussein does exist. But at least one story he told the AP just doesn't check out: The Sunni mosques that as Hussein claimed and AP reported as "destroyed," "torched" and "burned and [blown] up" are all still standing. So the credibility of every AP story relying on Jamil Hussein remains dubious.
I get so sick of this routine from them. "Well, maybe I was wrong about that, but, you know, there's A Lot of Unanswered Questions still surrounding the issue!"
Godammit, Michelle, the only freakin' unanswered question I have at this point is why anyone takes you seriously. You're wrong about everything. You're a wrong sandwich with extra wrong and a side order of super-wrong wrongness smothered in wrong sauce. And yet, you persist!
Fortunately, so do the young men at Sadly, No!
Expect this one to go into extra innings, gang.

what is the point of talking about mickey mouse malkin. I mean–Rush I get…bigtime network, blow hard, talks to god, but this one?
a mystery and a piece of shit.
this is the first ever Trex post, here or comments on Atrios that I feel is a waste of his talent…and that is considerable.
Glad somebody else reads her so I don’t have to.
OT, this is TRex from the Rickie Lee Jones Thread:
Ooh, I know this one! Maybe the only time I will ever know a musical one:
June Christy recorded this in the mid-50s, with Pete Rugolo. My mother was a singer, and loved Christy’s voice, so we had the vinyl, and I learned the song from that album. I now have a CD, which credits the song to Bill Barnes.
My contempt for Michelle Malkin will never subside.
Reverend Lovejoy: Quickly! direct your eyes to God’s magnificent parquet floor…
Homer: Oh, my ass!
Sorry, couldn’t help it…

Michelle Malkin… or as her friends call her Mrs. Joe Lieberman.

I really don’t know why she persists.
Funny how she doesn’t show the *inside* of that Mosque.
Fucktard.

Stupid, evil people possess incredible reserves of endurance.
I should know better than to even try while on dail-up.
Anyways, this is a perfect example of what someone(Digby?) called editing reality while still in the camera.
TRex @ 13
It’s her job, kind of like a defense attorney for a serial killer (actually, not just “kind of”).
She doesn’t do it very well, but the right wing type that compensate her apparently find her work useful in service of their goals. Where does she get her income, I wonder – she’s a “blogger”, after all.
EvilDrPuma @ 15

Is there error in giving this swine any ink?
Not questioning your post TRex, but God she is irrelevant.
More Lara Logan (sp?) cuz she is teh hot.

No need for a simile…
That’s great. Now will someone take a stab at guessing why Libby’s team is so freaked out by what Fleischer might say? Any bets that Fleischer gets put off for another day or two? Will he have to openly testify that he was afraid of the death penalty? That, to quote the movie, would be beautiful.
Germs with a super resistance to reality. I recommend shock therapy. Just don’t ask me where.

The very mention of it got the dang song in my head again. So I have this desire to get it in someone else’s head too. I guess I’m sick and sadistic that way.
But never as sick and sadistic as Michelle Malkin.

I don’t even bother to have contempt for Michelle Malkin. She’s not worth a thought.
I reserve my contempt, which knows no bounds, for people like Joe Lieberman and John McCain. But mostly for Joe Lieberman.

GSD @ 31
That just cries out for a dig at certain blond, but I won’t.
Michelle’s audience is not unlike that of Pills Limbaugh. Cheese doodle-munching mouth- breathing, knuckle dragging dumbasses. Rush is their High Priest. Malkin and Coulter are their eye candy. Did I mention that many of them are corpulent and have pasty complexions?
Helpless Dancer @ 39
(mumbling)…probably isn’t a real blonde, either…
“Forcibly remodelled.”
Now, that’s funny. In an odd, black-humorish sort of way, mind you.
I suspect Michelle Malkin will relate that remark to gated community covenants, or something….
Your ending was rock solid, TRex.
She has been wrong about it all.
Just like Dick Cheney and crew.
Just like Rush whats’isname, and that cracker fella, ole 60 grit, and the rest of em.
Why does anyone even listen to the RightWing hate speakers on any subject?
Oh, why did she EVER come around here? Thank God she was never close enough to be described as “a good lay.”
GSD @ 32
A fishwife is either a woman who sells fish or a crude, vulgar woman. A codpiece is a pant flap to cover the opening in front which conceals the (Old English) codd or scrotum.
Michelle Malkin is an asian Ann Coulter.
Anyone think Malkin’s bought and paid for? Ever since her defense of internment camps in WWII, I figured she was simply on Rove’s payroll.
when will she be bringing us the good news from Iraq, you know, the school openings and the peaceful towns that abound and the MSM is just ignoring?
Kevin Hayden @ 47
Whether paid through a right-wing braintrust ;) or think tank :)or from Karl Rove’s checking account, Malkin is bought and paid for.

Good news for ‘good’ Germans
I honestly wouldn’t know who Michelle Malkin is if I hadn’t learned of her odious pesence on this blog. I work at two different hospital laboratories, both of which have more than a few Phillipino employees, and every freakin’ one of them is a foaming at the mouth winger. Great lumia at the pot-lucks though. Looks like Marcos did his job well at instilling rigid, militaristic, authoritarian discipline among his countrymen. I deal with people of Ms. Malkin’s mentality on a daily basis.
When are we going to get Left Wing think tanks? I wanna big fat piece of some Moonbat Welfare!
Grumble.
Maybe if I abruptly changed my stripes and turned into a Token Gay Right Winger I could get on at Time Magazine or the American Enterprise Institute.
TRex @ 54
You would have to masquerade as a “formerly gay” Right Winger who has found the Lord.
Bad people are one thing. Stupid people are another. Society rightly shuns them and ignores their opinions.
But is seems that today, bad, stupid people who have no self awareness about how bad and stupid they are get on television.
Another reason why my contempt for Joe Lieberman is infinite, which means it can encompass my contempt for Michele Malkin without being diminished one iota.
If I may edit myself at #53, that would be “lumpia,” not “lumia.” Haste makes waste.
Rushton @ 53
You’ve made this point before, Rushton, and again, I have to disagree. I have two very close friends from the Philipines and they’re both just as kind and open and liberal as they can be. I’m just not comfortable with blanket statements like that.
neurophius @ 56
Sully doesn’t.
Add another classic to the TRex Hall of Fame!
What is truly odd is that when you click through on the Hot Air site link to “Destroyed – Not (NY Post)”, the story by Malkin has a photo of the same mosque – with the dome intact.

I don’t buy into the ethnic stereotypes. White, brown or green can be all over the political map.
The only and admittedly generalized statement I’d venture is that many Filipinos I’ve met are VERY CONSERVATIVE Catholics. So it’s possible there’s some theocratically fundamentalist underpinnings to her views if she fits that generic. Being anti-abortion and only offerred Bush as an option, it takes great logical gymnastics to equate ‘pro-life’ with anything Bush puts in practice. Probably tears a mental hamstring or two to accomplish.

Yee Gads Drudge wouldn’t touch it but Faux Nouse does….
Rushton @ 53
Philippinos come in different political flavors. Many in Canada are liberal types. FWIW, many are very Catholic which is bound to have a conservative influence on them. In general, they are conservative in their demeanor – which may also have an effect on their politics. They have a love/hate relationship with the West and the US. Their primary concern is for their families – they want to give everyone back home – sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews a leg up – whatever the cost.
katymine @ 64
The drawback to that is that wide range of opinions and beliefs enabled the goopers to keep the dems divided and ineffectual as a minority party and is still hampering us now in the senate.
[edit] btw herding cats is my all time favorite superbowl commercial.
hackworth @ 74
Oh, I don’t doubt that there is a broad spectrum of political philosophy among Phillipinos. But the fact that I work with perhaps twenty of them and all of them are conservative in the extreme makes me think that this is more than random chance. I didn’t mean to offend anyone, and perhaps I should keep my observations on this matter to myself from now on, particularly since it has been pointed out to me that I am repeating myself like an old bore.
Who posted Bernard Chazelle’s op-ed? A BIG thanks for that brilliant work!
I once had a highly educated citizen of the Philippines working for me in the U.S. Although we talked about a lot of things, I never had a clue what his politics were. I would hesitate to apply any generalizations to him.

Scary and wholly inadvertent mental image of a languid T-Rex, stretched out on a leopard-print carpet (rumored to be a gift from Dinesh D’Souza), wearing nothing but a simile.
I think that what this country needs is a good old-fashioned, California style recall election for the presidency. I mean, this idiocy has gone on long enough, hasn’t it?
I say we have the first primary on, say, April 15th. Who’s with me?
TRex @ 92
Not soon enough.
TRex @ 92
The Constitution isn’t. It’s either impeach, or live with it till its term runs out.
TRex @ 91
The recall idea is a dandy, but the date sucks. The tax and spend meme would kill us on a day when everyone is pissed about giving the gov thier money.
I think that the fact that those pollworkers in Ohio have been convicted of election fraud means that we have reached uncharted constitutional waters, which, to my thinking, is cause enough for a vote of no confidence in the administration and an emergency recall election.
TRex @ 96
OK. You have my vote.
TRex @ 96
I too think this is going to be a catalyst for Something Interesting.
Unfortunately our system doesn’t allow for votes of no confidence. One the suckiest things about election law is that there is no provision for overturning the results because one side cheated. Man, talk about incentive for the unscrupulous to do what it takes to win.
egregious,
do you have to come back stateside and then go back to mother russia after they sort things out?
Michelle Malkin saddles the horse from the wrong end. Instead of observation followed by deduction, she starts with wingnutty opinion followed by cherry picked observation. Just like Cheney’s fabrication of a cause for war.
War torn Iraq looks so appealing to her because she really likes the war and wants to prolong it as much as possible. It must give her a rush of superiority to have the world’s strongest war machine engaged and she must be ecstatic that Bush wants to throttle up that machine with 21,500 more cogs.
If you are of Michelle’s mindset, then collateral damage such as blown up mosques or several hundred thousand innocent lives lost needs to be hidden so the American public won’t turn against the war and she can party on with her warmongering friends.
Helpless Dancer @ 99
The Supreme Court invalidated the results of the Florida vote in 2000 [by ordering that votes not be counted] and installed Bush. They could do something similar with the Ohio vote and install Kerry, but they won’t. Anyhow, Kerry conceded defeat. He failed to follow Rule No. 1 of FDL Late Nite politics–ATAAAAACCCKKK!
neurophius @ 102
Is it because Kerry is A HAAAAAAAACCCCKKKKKKK????
Well what can one say about an Anchor Baby that wants to do away with the very Constitutional Amendment that gave her citizenship. Gee Michelle, whats the underlying motivation of a military PR officer? Seems to me the original story surrounding the death of Pat Tillman should give her a clue as to how the military operates. Now I’m really confused are they Sunni or Sunny? One would hope she could at least get the pronunciation correct. What a twit!
Dammit, Fini. Look what you left on the carpet.
Alright, gang. Time for bed.
Everybody sleep well. Big day in court, tomorrow.
TRex @ 105
uRP. Sorry. I’ll clean that, can you hand me the paper towels and bottle of Resolve?
Gnight Trex!
neurophius @ 101
My opinion on that particular matter is that the Supreme Court really should not have interfered. The case was taken upon partisan grounds. Kerry displayed the biggest fault of DC Dems as in being too civilized and that cost him the election. What the left needs is to be is what the right claims we are. We need a few more wild eyed bomb throwers.
As a personal off-topic aside, as a longtime lurker going back to when Jane listed her address in Oregon, I thought I should mention that I didn’t start chiming in to blogwhore or impress anyone. I’m just going through a transition away from regular blogging.
Been doing that for four years at 3 different sites and managing a big-group blog has worn me to a nub. In a couple of weeks, I go on extended hiatus and leave it in the hands of others. So it’s freed my time to surf through more and catch up on comments I was always too rushed to consider. And this here’s quite an articulate, informed bunch of Harpo Marxists. Sorry I was skipping over so much beautiful honking.
With many of our best-known regulars moved on (Bill Scher, Digby, Jeralyn Merritt, David Neiwert, Jesus’ General, the Fafblog! trio, Michael Berube, Angry Bear and John Amato just to name-drop a few), I’m glad there’s a multitude of quality bloggers remaining to replace my verbosity with better and briefer.
One oldtimer who used to run her own site is Emma of Late Night Thoughts, a Cuban-American librarian who’s an especially gifted wordsmith. She’s been MIA for many months due to several personal concerns. She returned tonight with a post about healthcare that begins with her discovery of a breast lump.
So, yeah, though I won’t post the link, as I’ve previously posted 2 or 3 from our site, I’ll just encourage you to click on my name to find her post and if it’s an issue you care about, as she brings another perspective to it that many overlook.
Beyond that, thank you, all of the smart and articulate bloggers who make FDL a highly illuminating waterway and all the commenters who add further brilliance with their own reflections, for tolerating me plunking my gluteus maximi down amid an already full beach blanket.
Without a single wedgie. For which this newbie is grateful.
When describing Michelle Bachman (GWB’s new Heart-throb)a few threads back, I forgot to include an old but funny story.
Minneapolis has a fairly substantial Gay Entertainment center, with the oldest establishment being the Gay 90’s Night Club. It is quite large, the kitchen has a better than average reputation, sells cheap drinks at happy hour, and in the main room on the ground floor, has a large stage. In the back are several smaller rooms, one is traditionally for Lesbians, another is Gay, and the smaller rooms upstairs are Gay, frequently with different entertainment. The large main room is “integrated” and usually is set up for larger parties. Same kitchen for the whole place, bars in every room.
Anyhow, after Michelle was first elected to the State Senate, she and her Husband, who “converts” Gays into Straights in his clinic, decided to have a night on the town, and they went to the Gay 90’s. They were of course seated in the large downstairs room. At some point they got up and tried to move upstairs, and someone politely told them that the custom was for Hetro couples to stay on the ground floor. She pushed, and the bouncer pushed back (she probably used the same moves she used on the House Floor on Bush on the Bouncer). Push, Shove, Push, Shove — the show was starting, and she was asked to go back to her table. They left in a huff.
The next day the Gay 90’s got sued under every equal accomodations civil rights bill she could find in the city and state — and we got one that dates from the 1870’s. Of course she went to the Press and hooted and hollared. She eventually ended up with a money settlement and she forced the City and State to get an injunction against the club for public accomidations discrimination, and they had to agree not to do it again, and post a big sign and all the usual. For a time, Michelle and her husband would make “inspections” and when they did, the owner would simply move the other customers and the entertainment to different rooms, leaving them alone. The Gay Press had fun with her “inspection” tours. During one visit she noted that a poster had been hung overlapping her special sign, so back to the Civil Rights Commission she went. On another visit members of the Twin Cities Gay Chorus showed up after a performance, and they had some drinks and got into a singing mood. She charged Harassment. It’s sad but still funny. Someone ought to warn the DC area clubs.

Well, of course I can move on and forgive her and I pretty much have, but there is one solitary issue that as a young person (I was very precocious) I decided I would never compromise on and that is protecting and defending the First Amendment. It’s truly sad to see the left defending the honor of the MSM by distorting the positions of the parties involved. Honest people following the chronology will see the AP has no honor here and all the classic elements of a “Pallywood” second hand story are present. The omnipresent but never present Captain Hussein, from whom nothing escapes in vast swaths of Baghdad is indeed a most valuable resource for the AP. His material is so good it is almost beyond belief.
Has anyone from the courageous left checked out any of these stories or are they just sitting on their fat asses in air conditioned rooms thousands of miles away pecking away on their keyboards?
No one challenges the MSM, especially if its right wing rabble and it would minimally challenge an anti-administration meme. Remember Reutersgate!
Let me get this straight. The AP reports
and MM has the bright idea to post video of a mosque with it’s dome destroyed, and that’s supposed to be proof the AP got the story wrong?
In what parallel universe would that make sense? If anyone knows, please send Malkin there. She’ll be much happier and so will we.

Kindly check the “Categories” section (Right margin) under “MEDIA” there are currently 232 entries under this category. I’d bet 99.9 percent of the content is some sort of “Challenge to the MSM”
Thanks for trying, though. C for effort.
“Onion shaped thing”?
That statement reads as a conscious effort to be bigoted, of basking in the limelight of his own staggering ignorance.
The only thing more pathetic than being Michelle Malkin, is being a groveling minion of Michelle Malkin. Obviously they deserve each other.

I also work at a hospital and there are quite a few Filipinas who are Malkin clones. I think they would strap on a suicide bomb for Bush. I agree about the great lumpia and pancit, too. But, don’t bring up politics at the potluck!
The idiocy and stubbornness on the right is staggering.
Standing, soaking wet, in the middle of a hurricane, they’ll tell you that the sun is shining and they’re getting a wet-tan.
And they get paid for this lunacy? I’d do it too, but I’d like to think I have a soul…
Good Morning Firepups,
Just catching up after weekend in DC. Thanks, TRex for another in the continuing series of rightwing idiocies exposed to the sunlight of reason [where they shrivel up like dead garden slugs].
The peace march was wonderful. People of all ages [lots of kids and seniors], all backgrounds [Lutherans for Peace, groups from Wisconsin and Ohio], all in good humor [there were some great signs: “It takes an idiot to raze a village” was a favorite of mine], gathered peacefully to persuade Congress to defund the war. Most of the speakers were brief and to the point [a few were long-winded, but only a few]. During the rally Mr. NJP and I went up the steps of the National Gallery to get a view of the crowd. It was about 12:30 p.m. or so and people were still arriving. There was a small group protesting the peace march, stationed on the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the National Archives, with a bull horn shouting that we were traitors and giving aid to America’s enemies, but nobody paid them very much attention. Before joining the main event, we watched a great rally by for Code Pink at the Navy Memorial, with lots of dancing and music. There were some memorable costumes, too. Three women, all in red, white, and blue outfits [and wigs], with strap-on missiles in strategic locations, deep in conversation with camo-clad teens.
It’s snowing here in central Jersey, but I am warmed by the thought of how much people cared, coming from some distance, to tell their elected representatives that this awful war must end.
Work for peace, every day.
Good morning, folks. The NYT has Bob Herbert and Paul Krugman. Herbert brings us to the DC march, and Krugman makes sense about energy.

Have a good day. It’s COLD here — try to stay warm.
That’s a keeper!!

Anybody who kicks around Malkin and makes it this much fun is otay by me.
I am deeply saddened that Ms.Malkin & company were not fortunate enough to have further debunked, first hand and up close of course, the much reported myth of those Improvised Entertainment Devices.

Mornin’ all!
This will undoubtedly get epu’d, but Murray Waas has a new short post up. He expects Ari to testify about what was going on in the west wing, not the OVP.

good morning, wolfie – think Vaster had to go to second printing?
That would be great. Maybe even a third.
Michelle Malkin is too too easy of a target this morning as i sip coffee in the ‘red oxide’ coloured mug my kids gave me made in China.
Ah hell I’ll take a potshot: Michelle deep in her heart wants to be a world-class figure skater or something graceful yet strenuous. This is the closest she can get and still have lots of adoring fans.
Back to coffee wondering if the mug has lead content or made by political prisoners.
I thought conservatives didn’t do nuance.
morning! i’m all anticipation for ari testamony today….
new thread up top
and tuesday there is the senate judiciary committee hearing, “Exercising Congress’s Constitutional Power to End a War”
wednesday kissinger and albright testify before the senate foreign relations committee, “Iraq in the Strategic Context, session 1″…. followed by snowcroft and brzezinski on thursday for session 2.
big week!
She sells this stuff, but no one can be sure that she believes this stuff. It’s all marketing. If she could make more money as a liberal, she would. The joke is on those who believe that she means any of it.
Morning all. I too will get EPU’d no doubt. And totally ON TOPIC. NYT has a nasty front page piece up by their right wing supporter & fundy writer David Kirkpatrick. (As with most everything he writes as “journalism” it is way off base. The title is “Feeding Frenzy For a Big Story, Even if it is False.” I assumed it was about the admin story, later reversed by AP on the US soldiers who were captured and shot in the head. (THe original story was far different spin).
Here Kirkputrid does a take on the Obama Madrassa story. His take is that Hilly was maligned because the original story was that she was behind it. He admits early on that “Other news organizations have confirmed Mr. Obama’s descriptions of the school as a secular public school.” He also notes that “…there is no evidence that Mrs. CLinton’s campaign planned to spread thos accusations.” A chunk in the middle is about the Washington Times & unification church ties and the Insight web site associated with both aswell as anony journalists supposedly from MSM who write for them, because there own editors won’t publish this sort of thing (i.e. Kirkpatrick seems to be agreeing with them that there is bias against the right wing points of view in the MSM). He quotes someone at Fox saying they erred because the reporter didn’t know what he was talking about; the author also notes the wide play of the piece by Fox, Limpballs and other conservative radio people. He notes as well, several earlier pieces by David Brock (later recanted by him) and ends by saying that he “…now runs a liberal media group dedicated to countering WHAT HE CONSIDERS [my emphasis] be conservative bias in the news media.” In short in his own voice he implies there is left wing media bias in MSM, and here bringing up Media matters (which I find pretty balanced reporting) he insists on putting in the qualitative comment about Brock considering it to be about countering Conservative bias.
But here (in addition to the Hilly and Brock bit) is the clincher. He writes “Mr Kuhner said he was not yet convinced by repots from officials of the elementary school that Mr. Obama attended in Indonesia about its secular history. ‘To simply take the word of a deputy headmaster about what was the relgious curriculum of a school 35 years ago does not satisfy our standards for aggressive investigatie reporting’ he wrote.”
What is wrong with this picture. Basically it serves to remove Hilly (the far right’s prefered Dem candidate) from the mix. It besmirches Brock. And most importantly it pushes along the Obama Madrassa story to the front page.
But what really gets my goat is that the NYT has people in Jakarta, plus lots of ability to do a report on the school, but have chosen not to do it. And, of course a Madrassa (a school, quite simply) had very different connotations and curriculum back then before the Isr*ael-Palestinian mess blew up the whole Middle East. Note too there is no mention of the fact that it was Obama himself who wrote about this schooling in his book. But the article leaves it like it was something that someone “found out” about him.
Long and short of it. This is a piece of political hack writing, with an ideological bent to it which serves to austensibly clear Hilly while further pushing Obama in the mud. The remention of Madrassa here is intended surely to bring questions to him by every religious group (but Islam) and those who would claim to wave the flag for US Patriotism.
In the end this piece should never have been published. The editors at the NYT (and of course Kirkpatrick) should be ashamed of themselves. Like the Howell recent reprimand of the reporter over the Edwards house sale item in the Post, once this is out there in MSM, there is no real pulling it back. And because of its Islamic element, it is intended to be particularly damaging.

No, the sick joke here is on those that defend her vile bile as an exercise in capitalism

Trex Quotes “Morrissey” perfectly. We are all” sickened” by her inability to see the plain truth. Perhaps she needs glasses.
(Delurks) Somehow, I love this:
“You’re a wrong sandwich with extra wrong and a side order of super-wrong wrongness smothered in wrong sauce.”
Always did have a fondness for theropods, large and small.
So that’s where all the foul flatus comes from!
I’ve recently just discovered the humor that is MM and I’m surprised that any real media outlet would have her as an employee.
The good news is, the first time she screws up they’ll sacrifice her to whatever fires are available. The big “EXPENDABLE IDIOT” tattoo on her forehead should give her the heads up.
Michelle’s insurance company will be cheered to know that were the roof to blow off of her house, Ms. Malkin would not file a claim.
TROLL ALERT
DaleyRocks is a wingnut troll who is usually seen in the comments over at Glenn Greenwald’s place.
Don’t engage with him — it’s like wrestling with a pig (i.e., you end up frustrated and covered with mud, and the pig likes it).
TRex!
I Linked and to your blog and used, with credits, your Michelle Malkin, bunny suit picture. Thanks

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. You might think Malkin is irrelevant but if she is on television, she is not irrelevant to a sizeable number of people … voters … hello ???
Malkin is the cancer or the battery acid that rots from the inside out. If you can create a seed of doubt that even regular AP war reporting is fraudulent, then you can insert your own storyline and make it seem “equal” to the AP or Reuters or whomever.
Malkin et al. don’t give a crap what you think. You don’t count. They know their audience and they are trying to expand it.
Maybe if she spends enough time in Iraq without security, she’ll figure out that the situation is far worse than the AP or the rest of the mainstream media report.
Malkin, another (upside-down) 5 (pointed) star general in the War on Truth!
