Cathie Martin is privy only to Libby’s end of the conversation. Has no cue about discussion relating to Wilson’s wife.

Ergo. She isn’t lying/perjuring herself…in fact her memory is quite good…corresponding to Cooper’s testimony.

Cooper’s recollection of his Grand Jury testimony.

fdlblog @ 159

Apparently CM perjured herself! Cooper testified that Libby spoke to him about Plame on July 12. CM flat out contradicts this. Unless Libby made another call to Cooper July 12, CM is lying. WTF is going on?

Nope…because all Libby said to Cooper, who was trying to get Libby’s “confirmation” of Rove’s statement that Plame worked at the CIA. Cooper states in his testimony that in his call he asked if Libby knew that Wilson’s wife worked at the CIA and Libby replied “Yes, I’ve heard that too.”

Cathy Martin would not have heard Cooper’s question and Libby’s response was such that she wouldn’t have learned anything about Plame or Coopers question. She DID know that Libby would have known that Plame owrked for the CIA, however…after all…she told him over a month before.

Now, let’s see.

Some chronology:
July 11 ~ Cooper calls Rove about Welfare Reform, perhaps because he is unaware that Rove would say anything about VP/Wilson issue (for that he would want to speak to Libby/Cheney).

Rove starts talking about Wilson, out of the blue, and mentions “Wilson’s wife” and that material will soon be declassified that will discredit Wilson. This is first Cooper hears about “Wilson’s wife” [Q. How did Rove learn about Plame?]

Rove then calls Steve Hadley about his converso with Cooper. Hadley then calls Libby, Libby asks that CM leave the room.

Cooper calls CM and wants to speak to Libby. She asks what about, maybe Libby will speak about it either on or off the record. Cooper sends email with several questions, none mention Wilson’s wife, however.

Cathie Martin is privy only to Libby’s end of the conversation. Has no cue about discussion relating to Wilson’s wife.

Huh. “We often use MTP.”

Even though that is obvious at one level (all you have to do is look at the guest list for the last few years), that sure says a lot to me. “Used” is certainly a word with a multitude of meanings.

I agree. Even though we “know” it - it’s shocking to have it admitted to.

Wonder how Russert feels about being “used”? Proud or ashamed?

everhopeful says:

MSM stenographers working hard - Yahoo headline now:

Faulty Memories Abound at CIA Leak Trial

Interesting that the LA Times also has this take. The article is around page 20 of the first section and says something to the effect that Libby’s attorney’s scored points by showing the first few witnesses had bad memories.

With this
W When you said “married to a CIA agent” that is not what Harlow said to you, you referred to anyone who worked at CIA as agent. You have no knowledge that Mrs. Wilson’s job status was classified.

Is Wells defending Libby against the current charges or IIPA violations?

Seems like by admitting she knew about it, it increases chances Libby knew- (aasuming they’ll get to her telling libby at some point)…And this ‘no knowledge job was classified’ is great if they’re defending IIPA, but not really useful here, is it?

Actually, even if Martin was interpolating….if shew actually said this to Libby/Cheney it would have been THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to check up on the details of Plame’s status to make damn certain that her role was NOT CLASSIFIED.
