As much as I love what Jim Webb has to say — and boy is it the message we need now! — I hate to say it, but I think he really needs to put in time in the Senate, at least one term.

In any event, I’m happy he’s a Democrat. And given his unashamed populism, it’s the only party that makes sense for him.

That time he put in down in the trenches of the snake pit that was the Reagan regime ought to count for a BUNCH, don’t you think? He’s been around that [poisonous] town a lot, knows how it works, and is still capable of speaking clearly, strongly, and with compassion. What more do we need?

hillary’s intelligence is so obvious, but she is such a political animal that i can’t support her. she should just stay in the senate and shoot for majority leader and play politics all day long.

Hear!! Hear!! I’ve been saying for quite some time that she should stick to her Senate knitting. She does have the brains, political savvy and instincts to become the MAJOR power in the Senate. We need her there more than we need her at 1600. (Unless she plans to re-run for the Senate after … nah… she really should stick to her knitting…)

i think the difference between webb and obama is that at least webb has a history of public service- obama has yet to show that he can handle the heat- it could very well be that he would make a great prez one day, but up til now, all he’s done is delivered a great speech at a convention.
