Fitz: grew up in SE DC. Went to Eastern High school. Works at a law firm. When she worked in the Court she worked in the probation office. Some attorneys from her firm work in White Collar crime, but she doesn’t work with those attorneys.

Reads the WaPo. Watches Fox.

No positive or negative impression of prosecutors or defenders.

Jeffress up. Worked at another law firm, a family law firm. She’s a legal secretary. Did workstudy at Department of Transportation.

Jeffress asking the memory question. Tends to think things are honest disagreement, once people talk and compare memories, you can figure out what it was. No belief about why you’d forget. “It’s just bad memory, I guess.”

Now up on War questions–not aware of any controversy on the war.

Fitz up on how you decide about memory. I wouldn’t just judge them. I wouldn’t assume they lied, that’s not my personality or character.

The take among some was that both sides think they may have an in with this guy.

Defense: Hey! He know Woodie! He’s in!

Feds: He know Mr. Woodward – and thinks “Woodie” is an ASSHOLE. He’s in.

Absolutely historic, and common citizens are the deciders!

Kinda like each voter who voted back in Nov. If We, the People, do OUR jobs, we can make Washington DC to THEIR jobs.

Last time I got called, I got in a pool for a nasty capital case — double murder w/kipnapping and armed robbery ancillary counts. There was gonna be sequestration and a death penalty phase if he was convicted (he was, dude was guilty as hell).

I didn’t make up any B.S., but I sure played up my Master’s degree, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), long tenure in a forensic level environmental radiation lab, youthful drug use and liberal attitudes toward drugs (legalize), and the fact that I’d done my grad thesis on the bullshit that is workplace drug testing policy.

Those that do end up staying usually take such cases seriously. Last time I was on jury duty, I was heading down the hall for lunch, and passed a closed door through which I could hear non-stop argument at pretty high volume. Looked at the bailiff and sort of nodded my head toward the door. He just shrugged and said, “murder trial deliberations.”

Nearly everyone who sits on a jury takes it damned seriously. I would have as well in that case, though I really didn’t want that particular trial at that time in my life, given the disruption it would have entailed.

I woulda given my left nut to be on that jury. Seriously. I consider jury service to be the greatest civic duty AND honor we have in America. And to be sitting on the jury that will have some sayso in American Politics – one for the history books? Man…………………..
