I would recommend NOT automatically buying the NYT’s various themes, spin-points and space-fillers. They’re often pulled out of thin air. To wit:

Gore never said the words “Democrat” or “Democratic” in his 1999 announcement speech. Kerry never said either word in his 2003 announcement. Bush said the word “Republican” only once when he announced in 1999. (”I know Republicans all across America. We’re generous at heart.”)

Just the mere fact he is getting msm play, means he is not for me.

Much like Bush was the “frontrunner” in early 1999(!) according to msm (when in actual fact, he never led Gore) Obama is one of the desired-by-the-Establishment Democratic candidate.

I call him a sell out. But don’t get me wrong: Hillary is too. In fact, both of these msm foisted-upon-us candidates are just more of the same ol’ same ol’.

Kucinich, never hear a peep of what he is up to in msm.

That’s precisely why I support him. I’ll wager we could convince Feingold he is needed, too.

Unfortunately, his Republican opponents are not going to respect his non-partisan approach to things. He will be taunted as “Hussein”; they will give him the Harold Ford/Mandingo treatment, etc. The only way to play with the Republicans is to treat it as a razor fight.

Are there any candidates who wouldn’t be afraid to be associated with Muslims? Any that don’t advocate military strikes in Iran?

Yes Wesley Clark. He saved hundreds of thousands of Bosnian Muslims and they think the world of Wes. Many live in the U.S. now and will support Wes 100% always in whatever he decides to do. Muslims visit and blog at securingamerica.com (CCN). They have named streets after Wes in Bosnia.

Also, Wes visits the ME frequently and a few weeks ago was invited to speak at a major conference there.

Wes is very well-known outside the U.S. and has many prominent friends throughout the world.

eureka springs @ 40

O-lame-A

No time for middle men. Peace and liberty are not freaking negotiable nor should they continue to be ignored into oblivion.

I would rather vote for Hillary.

ooh thats low, but really, there has got to be the impression that voters will walk away from the charade and vote Nader, or Ron Paul, or who-ever, rather than reliably, repeatedly, shuffling back and voting for whatever repulsive solon the D.C. apparatchiks foist on us. Look at what the hard right wingnuts have done to the repubs - they are yelling their heads off that McCain is a commie or some such, and he has to chase them out to right field because he knows they are ready to bolt. Not so on this side of the aisle , unfortunately.

Sorry, hit “send” too soon - so took a hard ass mentor so he could learn as much as possible in the shortest amount of time feasible. And it worked. Nearly all the Dems -DCC and others did miserably on Lamont (very painful for all of us), but Obama was no worse than the others - i.e. Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, etc. Obama isn’t everything I would like to have in a candidate, but he is smart, thoughtful, very articulate, remarkably personable and has a top notch staff (that he listens to).
I also like Edwards and Clark as candidates; Richardson is not bad either, and there are a couple more too. But let’s not trash (and empty the can) before we know what we have out there.

Hmmmm….Al Gore not your cup of tea?

Gore ran a dumb campaign - by not including Clinton among other things in the campaign. And, for whatever other strengths he has, he comes across as preacher-like and too elitist - amove us not with us. And, don’t get me started on tipper (ratings for music!!), and the big (fake) kiss. But, I could vote for him, if he is at the head of the pack when the time comes.

Here is what the sanctimonious Obama doesn’t understand:

Republicans have been wrong about everything they’ve said and done for 40 years. I am not now nor will I ever be interested in what they have to say about anything whatsoever. They, and by extension all bi-partisan fucktards, need to get the hell out of the way so that the progressive movement can haul this nation out of the ditch the ReThugs drove it into.

And yeah, we progressives can do it.

We will do it.

And if Obama the Rethugs and their enablers do not get out of the way we will…

Drive right over them.
