Lieberman ain’t gonna be McCain’s running-mate, for two reasons:

1) Joe has empirical evidence showing he has absolutely no worth whatsoever to a ticket. If he was of any value as a running mate, he would be Vice-President of the United States right now.

2)To get the nomination, J. Sidney McCain III is going to have to bend over backwards to prove himself to the rabid fundies. He will get some pro-fundie weirdo foisted upon him. Somebody like Brownback. The last thing McCain can do is pick as his running mate a Northeastern Non-Christian who’s last appearance at a party nomination involved him holding hands with Arch-Communist Al Gore.

McCain will have some sort of latter-day Quayle.

There’s only one thing Hillary seems to care about. And that is being prez. Some might conclude this apparent insatiable desire is a good enough reason to deny her the nomination.

that’s the conundrum. nobody get’s there without having that insatiable desire. i’m not a hillary fan but, even fuckwad aside, we could do a hell of a lot worse.

I do believe that we took our eyes off the ball when the president ordered $700,000,000 diverted from where the Congress constitutionally ordered it to be spent and used it to prepare his invasion of Iraq (for which the Congress did NOT authorize the money).

I have worked for corporations for decades- there is nothing inherently evil about a corporation (in my opinion)- and there is no necessary conflict between helping them to succeed and helping individuals to succeed- it’s all in the details.

Those are some pretty damned important details. Large corporations are controlling policy in this nation — and foreign policy as well.

Take a look at the latest important Playboy article — on how Lockheed Martin has been steering foreign policy.

And it’s the health insurance corporations who are preventing decent health care for all Americans.

Those are just two examples. You know what I mean.

The fusion of corporations and the state was Mussolini’s definition of his own ideology of fascism.

That judicial determination (made by a Supreme Court clerk, not even a judge) that corporations have all the rights of a human being cannot stand.

Our tyranny of the state is really the tyranny of the corporate state.

i wouldn’t pile on or anything but, i gotta agree with Mrs. K. the idea of the corporation has allowed a lot of very bad things to happen world wide. corporations too often become bullies. the general thrust is: PROFIT. NOTHING ELSE CAN BE FIRST. and to often, nothing else matters ……
