I think someone needs to look at where these new troops are coming from.

I was just listening to the Diane Rehm show on NPR. A lady called in to say her husband called and was really shaken. Two of his coworkers were just notified that they were going to Iraq. These guys had served 20 years ago, were honorably discharged, but had taken special forces training. The caller said her husband was distraught because he though about getting the training, but opted out. Are we calling up discharged soldiers???

That sounds like they’re pulling back the Inactive Ready Reserve, I think. It’s one of those fine print things that recruiters say not to worry about because it never happens. I’ll try to find more about it but yes, that’s where some troops are coming from.

The U.S. military said it had taken six people into custody in the Irbil region but made no mention of a raid on the Iranian consulate.

The forces entered the building about 3 a.m., detaining the Iranians and confiscating computers and documents, two senior local Kurdish officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the information. Irbil is a city in the Kurdish-controlled north, 220 miles from Baghdad.

then we blame the Iraqis for not doing what we want (hand over their wealth and resources) and when they fight against us, we send more troops

Patriot missile batteries are for missiles.

Not Iranian missiles.

We’re being prepared for a black flag op.

There will either be an “accident” where a missile appears to have been fired by Iran, and a Patriot is fired in response, or there will be a missile fired by Israel, which will be mistaken by the Patriot missile battery as an Iranian missile.

We are now in a full-blown Constitutional crisis. There are no ifs-or-buts. Our country has been hijacked and is being flown into the dust of what could be an independent Kurdistan.

OK Kiddo — Russia has been negotiating for quite some time with Iran about nuclear energy (not WMD). They have a lot of sunk costs into this effort. They also want to lock down the entire natural gas market in Eurasia, and Iran has the second largest natural gas reserves.

This is NOT just about Iran. This is NOT just about WMD.

This is about a global energy war.

I am deep in EPU land here, but just wanted to say that ‘the beast” looked positively terrified throughout his speech last night.

I have to agree with Rayne that something HUGE is going on here, and it scares the piss out of me. What can be done to stop this treachery and maddness?

And what is up with Durbin, and many of the other all-male cast of talking heads last night. The Iraqi’s did not ask for our help, – or did I miss something? We Invaded Iraq for fuck’s sake, they did not ask us to help them with anything – remember we are responsible for the deaths of as many as a million Iraqi children throughout the 90’s due to economic sanctions. How does reality become so warped, and no one says – That’s not true!

Rahm is on Charlie Rose now saying “I don’t think we are losing we are just not winning.”

That, in a nutshell, is how Dems gain ownership of this fiasco!

Rahm is on my list with Joe Lie of those for whom I have unending contempt.

The stirrings of mass public protests being organized for fed up Americans, Democrat and Republican, must surely be out there somewhere.

Who might be organizing such events?

I have never gone to a public protest before, but I would call in sick to work and go to one tomorrow if I could find one.
