I see your precious wiener dog and raise you one 18-year-old Siamese cat presiding o'er his domain.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Old Colonel, Gus. He's my snarfly old dragon. Mr. Fang.
Here he is saying, "Bah! Feck off! Stoop following me around wivvat bloody camera, ya bloody eejit!!"

Meanwhile, Juan Carlos has burrowed beneath the sofa cover and become verrrry sleeeeepy.

He's a little blurry, but I just couldn't resist this shot.
You will all rue the day that I got this camera.

KITTENS!!
Good night.
woohoo, bonus late nite! thank you mr. trex.
aww Trex - you all are a wonderful mess.
So TRex is issuing Christy a challenge. I wonder what she will respond with.
So why are you waking Redd up, dinodog?
You handle that party ok with your shoulder, ET?
Isn’t it about time for Juan Carlos to wake up and start running around the house? That’s what cats usually do at this time of the morning.

Yeah. I reacted so scarily on Thursday to the morphine withdrawal and percocet onset, I didn’t take anyrthing stronger than ibuprofin today. My wife, son and a friend did all the work, so I got to rest, supervise, rest, get in the way, etc. Party itself was great. Plus, with my hand stuck in front of me in a sling, I got some great hugs from the lovely women visiting…
ET, morphine and I do not get along either. (chuckling) sounds like you made some lemonade out of that sling you are wearing.

LOL, We do already!
Digital cameras are GREAT fun but take some lessons ferchrisake:) Your kitties are very cute and your house slippers are just too damn sexy.

Awww, ET, Sounds as if you should hit up TeddySanFran up for some of his skunky pain-relieving concoction….
Owwie, my knee! (hint, hint!)
my result is UGLY. if bushs credo really was to bring civilization and human rights to Iraq this really is the most archaic method to execute somebody. the pictures are cruel and cold. it reminds too much of slaughter and slaughter can be found often in iraq. the other processes not even taking place make saddam a kurd-killer. bush didnt want to clear up anything. he had a single interest in profiling himself as to be respected. Bush just wanted to strengthen his authority with a congress now opposing him. Bush hypocrital “milestone” for Iraq is more than cynical.

Another corpse on an alreaady too high pile. Who would Jesus hang?

Nice work Chimp and crew, you didn’t even break a sweat. What a disgrace.
We have five cats, but luckily (for everyone else) no digital camera.
Just a little morning thought song for everyone. VFP - Veterans For Peace music video
A Good song to give the weary warriors out there a moment to reflect.
The post underneath that video has a link to a farewell flash movie about Saddam Hussein.
Good Morning Firepups!
Cool and cloudy here in central Jersey. Haven’t been around the ‘Lake much lately [busy with end of year reports, prep for a class I’m teaching in January, and Christmas].
Be well, everyone. And work for peace every day.

Yet another night when Georgie slept like a baby. They didn’t even bother to wake him up to tell him the news. ‘Cause, ya know, I guess the decider already knew.

Ah TRex. There is nothing quite like the rivalry between “cat people” and “dog people”.
Littleprop solves this dilemma by want to have an entire managerie. So far, we’ve been able to keep it withing bounds, but she a real Dr. Dolittle streak in her.
Mornin’ Pups and a Happy New Year’s Eve eve to you all.
I think most Pups are still abed. Normally, I would be, too. But Mr. Marks & I actually went out and socialized last night. So it was early to bed and early to rise around here.
Good morning and good news!
My niece got home yesterday to find her young man on one knee, with roses and candles in the room. He proposed, she said yes.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summer wedding, Aunt Egregious will be there, bells on toes. Or is it belles on toes :)

Good Mornin’ Firedogs
woke up channeling Freda(Band of Gold)Payne
Fathers are pleading, lovers are all alone
Mothers are praying-send our sons back home
You marched them away-yes, you did-on ships and planes
To the senseless war, facing death in vain
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Turn the ships around, lay your weapons down
Can’t you see ‘em march across the sky, all the soldiers that have died
Tryin’ to get home-can’t you see them tryin’ to get home?
Tryin’ to get home-they’re tryin’ to get home
Cease all fire on the battlefield
Enough men have already been wounded or killed
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Turn the ships around, lay your weapons down
(Mothers, fathers and lovers, can’t you see them)
Oooh, oooh…
Tryin’ to get home-can’t you see them tryin’ to get home?
Oooh, oooh…
Tryin’ to get home-they’re tryin’ to get home
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home (bring ‘em back alive)
What they doing over there, now (bring ‘em back alive)
When we need them over here, now (bring ‘em back alive)
What they doing over there, now (bring ‘em back alive)
When we need them over here, now (bring ‘em back alive)
What year is it again ?!?!?
Hi, kitty! My, my, you preside so regally! Keep it up. (I know you will)
Aunt Egregious is very happy right now. My niece has been thru a lot and so deserves this happiness.
Bells on her toes, belles on their toes, on their toast, en croute, en route, I’ll be there.
I had a productive day yesterday, got some work done that involved higher brain function. I vaguely remember how to think. It’s coming back slowly.
Also got a good long walk, the first in a couple of weeks. Have just been too physically lethargic to go very far since mid December. Not sick, just tired. Like swimming thru jello.
So, Nate, we’re waiting for the next Charlie Brown campaign! Just give the orders, we’re ready.
Mornin’ all. Another opportunity to pimp pix of my furry sons!
Gawd I love cats! I love all animals.

Grameen Foundation dmg, they do good work.
Learning my way around the Sidekick 2, which has a camera. Yesterday I took Daughter in Ohio to the local cat shelter/rescue, and actually took a couple of pictures that turned out. As long as everybody’s posting critter pictures, here’s one of the ones I took.
I love black cats. Our first cat, Socrates, the Best Cat in the World, was black.

Here it is 6:30am and I’m just now getting to bed. Spent some hours working for Charlie tonight. I’m going to be working more closely with Charlie and members of this campaign. Doolittle has a black cloud over him and we’re still a month away from the House ethics committee changing to Democratic control and then the fun really begins.
I’m really glad you’re getting your ‘go’ up. I so can’t wait for 2007 to be here. I’m ready to put the cap on this year and kick off a new one. You’ll start hearing a lot more about Charlie in the next 60 days. New sites, new presence, same voice and spirit. Just a lot more work to get everything together for it. Even if Doolittle is still in office, you won’t have to wait long until Charlie has officially declared his intent for a rematch in 08′.

Pretty tuxedo kitty! So many cat-lovers here. That’s a good sign.
I have three.
My cat has a blog. Have you considered this for Juan Carlos?

Excellent cats!
I love your cat!
dmg@36:
Setting aside the obvious ones (ACLU, Sierra Club):
(1) If you are a regular viewer/listener, become a member of your local public TV and radio stations if you aren’t already on board there.
(2) Oxfam.
(3) The Yosemite Fund does a fantastic job of working with the Park Service to fund and oversee major restoration projects at the most beautiful place in America.
(4) Heifer International provides livestock to farmers in developing countries (somehow, this became the charity of choice in my family — four of my five siblings send them $ annually).
TRex, you’re becoming a terror with that new camera! (But I notice the smokes, painkillers and fancy-pants French water are out of the picture!)
You’ve got a Siamese cat with a Scottish accent?!
18 years old and looks in great health. That speaks volumes about how you care for the ol master.
I just recently had to put our 20 year Siamese, Ms Mattie, to sleep. A truly wonderful cat and a horrible decision to make. At what cost do we pay any price to keep our companion alive for who knows how short a period of time and at what quality of life?
We just can’t bring ourselves to getting another kitten as the pain and guilt at the end was too great
Bruce, condolences on Ms Mattie. It is hard to make that decision. I just put my 16 year old puppy to sleep.
It’s never an easy decision to get a new pet. But for me, the benefits of companionship far outweigh the loss at the end. They don’t live long enough, that’s a fact you have to accept if you have pets. Don’t let it stop you from getting another friend when the time is right.
Don’t get him started on his years in the Royal Navy. We’ll be up all night. Especially if he starts to hit the grog.
He’s quite spry for an old bird. On wet, chilly days like this he gets a little rheumy but all in all, he’s had a damn good life. I abducted him from a bunch of stinky hippies in 1992. They weren’t caring for him properly and I couldn’t stand to see such a special kitty go neglected.
Omigod, gorgeous, gorgeous photographs.
I love Siamese cats. They are a whole other species, no? So smart, so demanding, so in control.
Kisses and neck-scratchies to your babies, TRex. And a Happy New Year to you.
