Foley report was crap. That better not be all they are going to do, cuz letting a sexual predator roam the halls of our nation is NOT GOING TO PLAY.

If he pardon’s that just leaves one person for them to go after - him. And a landslide victory delivered by the people based on corruption is not going to let pardon’s go by.

So he would have to be in pretty serious trouble by what people are going to say to start with the pardons. And plenty of people are already saying things free of charge or to make money.

To bad so sad for 43 that 41 already used up the pardon and bury the facts with Executive orders, libraries, and plumb jobs for your secrete society cronies.

To truly appreciate the idiocy of the “No attacks since 9/11″ meme, imagine a robbery defendent telling the judge, “Well, yeah, but I haven’t robbed anybody since I was arrested!”

you’re making their case for them, i.e., that they’ve “arrested” the bad guys, ergo no more attacks.

There’s been no more attacks since 9/11 for the same reason there weren’t any for 10 years before 9/11 - spactacular attacks are not all that easy to do for middle easterners.

Although I fully agree that at some point we need to place blame and punish those who have violated laws, if that’s all the new Congress does, it will constitute just as big a group of losers as the previous one.
The problems our country faces may not have been caused by you or me, but we have to be the ones to solve these problems.

Senator Frist has decided to “cut and run” rather than face the issues, President Bush and VP Cheney apparently refuse to face reality. Be that as it may, a new Congress faces problems that require bold initiatives. Just as FDR faced problems never contemplated by the Founding Fathers, we face just such a crisis now. Our economy is in shambles, our debt is enormous, and the new emerging superpower (China) is our biggest creditor and competitor. We all want out of Iraq, but we are responsible for the chaos there and must do something to minimize it. With all due respect (not much) to Newt Gingrich, we have already lost an American city (New Orleans) and have turned our backs on it. Our reputation in the world has been severely damaged and even our power has been compromised. Might does not make right.
The Middle Class of America which is the backbone of our strength is under attack, we are more divided as a nation than at anytime since the end of the Civil War.
These are the problems . ..what are our answers?

Ed*ard at 129 — was Son of Stevens one of the arrested? Could be a long, cold winter for you guys — punctuated by some serious heat if this keeps up. *g*

Only Rep. Anderson was arrested. It is interesting that he could have been arrested anytime Thursday, but was pulled in so late that it was difficult to post bail. The amount of bail hasn’t yet been made public. It is also interesting that the arrest was on Thursday, leaving today for more action. I’m tempted to go to Anderson’s arraignment, if only to see his dad, who I haven’t seen in years. We attended a course - EMT I & II - at the state Police Academy together back in the late 1970s.

I’m expecting Ben Stevens to be at the head of the main wave of arrests, possibly along with Bill Allen, owner of Veco, and publisher of the “Voice of the Times,” the rump of the now-defunct “Anchorage Times.”
