But, I think he’s too optimistic about the Middle East. IMO, from the end of Clinton’s administration we’ve basically given up on any deal with the Palestinians and are fully backing the Israelis (who are building their wall and killing brown skin folks) and we’re off onto other foreign policy objectives.</p> <p>I don’t think there will ever be a deal, short of a negotiated peace between Israel and Palestinians at the end of a huge ugly war.</p> <p>Of course, our other machinations in the Middle East are royally screwing up the world and that sort of minimizes the importance of talking about Israel’s continuous killing.</p> I think Jimmy Carter is terrific.
