Ok–really dumb question time. Prof Althouse is working at a research 1 university, which rewards faculty who conduct important cutting edge research.

Why is Althouse running a blog? How does she have TIME to run a blg? What about teaching and service?

There are very few profs who blog AND do lots of terrific research (Juan Cole is perhaps my favorite public intellectual), generally because BOTH, if done well, are enormously time consuming.

So, is Althouse both a hack blogger and hack prof? (I know, catty, catty, catty).

And how happy are the taxpayers of Wisconsin about this?

There’s a lot of blaming in the article, but this has to be weirdest line.

Always got to get the blame out of the way before taking action.

Well, I call ‘em Leviiticans. They have apparently only read one book of the Bible, Leviticus, which rules their rather small faithy universe.
