I think I have to channel punaise here and say that my contempt for Joe Lieberman will never subside.

Contempt doesn’t even begin to describe what I think about that motherfucker.

So they postponed the disastrous end to their policy adventures, hoping for a deus ex machina or to eventually shift the blame. There is no need to do that now. Everyone already knows who is to blame. It is time to stop the adventure, lower our sights, and focus on America’s core interests. And that means withdrawal of major combat units.

He is in the Senate anyway. He has six years as 1/100th the power of the Senate.

People were stupid to elected him, who needs that kind of drama? Its like damn, God forbid there be 1/100th of the Senate a “liberal”.

Can’t see anyone wanting to take him on as anything unless it was payment to churn his seat. What is the party of the Gov. of Conn?

Gov. Jody Rell is a Republican.

But it two years, the Dems have a good chance to take a few more seats. Then Joe will no longer have the same power. And should he change sides between now and then, he’d really be screwed in 2009, because there would be absolutely no reason to grant him any favors. Period. He must be aware of that.

I know I’m grateful for it. Our household has been praying every night for these evil people to be tripped up in their own evil, for them to be caught up in the tangle of their own lies.

Seeing it unfold makes my heart swell in gratitude.

In two years, if when the Senate turns more Democratic, by even two votes, my guess is that the party leadership, along with everybody else, will be willing to throw Joe under the bus, where he belongs. With no hold on the majority he will be powerless, and much disliked for what he has done.

The few “moderate” Republicans, like the ones in Maine, could be enticed to switch parties. The GOP is fast becoming a party of the deep South. They’ve pretty much lost the Northeast, the Midwest, they’re starting to lose the Western states, and the Dems are even doing better in some of the plain states (Kansas and Missouri). So if they could get Collins, Snowe, or Smith (from Oregon) to switch, Lieberman is completely neutralized.

For myself, I can’t wait. McCain’s luster is already dimming, thank heaven, as he is exposed for the hack he is and his “bipartisanship” looks more and more like the self aggrandizing load of crap it is, and Joe won’t be far behind.

Besides, the mound of manure he serves up as policy on Iraq is out of step with 60% of the country. Don’t you think someone may notice that?

Since 2000, lieberman has had one ambition – executive power, prez or v-prez – taking on a mccain staffer puts him closer to the ‘bipartisan’ ticket republicans will need to get elected in ‘08. He has bush’s blessing. He and mccain are mutual admiration society, and if he loses he will still be a senator -

If McCain gets the nomination–something I’m not sure about–I don’t know exactly who his running mate would be, but it’s NOT going to be the Jewish guy from the Northeast who has already proven to bring no value whatsoever to the ticket. His running mate is going to be some sort of sop to the frothing base. A Southerner of some kind. Haley Barbour, perhaps.
