Edwards is an empty angie @ 6

TeddySanFran @ 5

I’m thinking that all this economic populism and anti-corporatism plays into the hands of a Preznitial candidate who’s talked about Two Americas, or One America, for a while. The cute one, on The Daily Show last night, with the handsome, wholesome family and the dimples. And the accent.

just sayin.

mebbe so!

Or we could see a lot more of Jim Webb… ;)

Edwards is an empty suit who obeyed when the Dems said don’t help Lamont. Obama is a suck up. Webb is a principled independent and his populism is right up my alley.

The center is relative. Determining a ‘traditional’ center still depends upon a trade-off of current positions.

Remember Arthur Schlessinger Jr’s “The Vital Center.”

It was the liberal consensus of the day. And those were great days.

Thanks Jane. I’m enamored of Webb’s recitation of fact. To get to the center, our nation must first travel left.

The American corporations have sent as many jobs abroad as they could in order to save money. After some years of that the workers here at home are feeling the pinch. Therefore, for some time to come a more populist, even protectionist, attitude should become more acceptable/desirable to voters. Progressives win.

The Republicans will crack under the pressure of Speaker Pelosi inspired investigations and ‘oversight’. Democrats and honest politicians win.

The longer Bush keeps us in Iraq the more the public will hate him AND anyone who supports him. Lieberman and some DLC/pro-war Dems will not be popular. Progressive anti-Iraq-war politicians win.

As the Netroots becomes more familiar with handling campaigns and campaign financing the Progressive candidates will have more funding and support. Progressives win.

There are not similar shifts in favor of DLC Dems or Republicans.

Bumper sticker: I’m with Nancy!

I see Jane has turned the corner, and I’m still trying to figure out where I am.

Populist. Hmmm. I thought I was a progressive, cuz librul meant dirty hippy.

I’ll do it like this.

(Points to Bush)

I ain’t that.

There. Now I’m all defined up.

There’s a reason why Hillary already stepped down from the Democratic Steering Committee and kept her campaign staffers on the payroll until at least December 31st: Barack Obama.

Either one would be a disaster for the Dem party. Neither could win the Presidency.

Agreed. Either one could win the nomination, though. Which is what worries me.

Oklahoma kiddo @ 76

We need to make life tough on Lieberman. Tough as tough can be.

If I were Harry Reid, I’d make Joe Lieberman my point man on reforming Medicare Part D, and devil take the hindmost. AARP will call RGJoe out against his insurance/pharma enablers, who’ll eat him alive if he deviates from what they bought on 11/7.

Might make L4Life at home hell, too!
