Rayne @ 185 I love it projection the elites the “wealthy corporatists ” who the person you talked to IDENTIFIES US with apperently because some “wealthy corporatists ” media told him too. Control of the media has the middle class acting against its own interests. We are elites because we question the ruling classes and want a government that helps people. Those of the middle class which still support the GOP against their own interests, do so because they identify the GOP as their tribe. Their tribe which must be defended from outsiders they see the “wealthy corporatists ” resources as their own. They resent “their ” resources being used to help those outside their tribe! Being insecure they seek to belong but don’t ask what is in it for them. To which I reply the Clinton economy helped everyone by trying to help those in need. By paying off a good portion of the debt the money that was freed up from paying interest helped everyone. Now “wealthy corporatists want tax cuts at everyones expense and choke the economy.

House summary, off the top of my head and to be revised upon consciousness:

WA-08 Darcy Burner conceded.

WY-all Cubin-Trauner, I have no news.

AZ Hayworth-Mitchell, the Republican conceded after a long recount.

TX and LA are awaiting runoff elections.

NM-01 Madrid-Wilson, no news as the count continues.

CT-02 Courtney-D WINS after total town by town recount. Margin is about 100 votes. Getting out the vote does matter.

NC-08 Kissell-D still demanding every vote be counted, provisionals and absentee.

OH-02 Schmidt-R still edges Wulsin.

OH-15 Pryce-R still edges Kilroy. They are very optimistic about the provisional ballots because of challenges to the new Ohio voter ID law.

GA-12 Barrow-D still slightly ahead, no news.

FL-13 where they are going to go look for some of the 18,000 missing votes. Who the heck knows.

tuneforg — yeah, I called someone on that this past week, the use of the word “elite”. They ended up redefining the term to mean wealthy corporatists who are likely Republican…

They wanted to insinuate well-educated Dems, but I kept after them with examples of the failure in his argument.

Finally sighed, gave up the real definition, and walked away defeatedly.

I don’t think I could sit in a room with conservative bloggers, not without a haz mat suit and a big can of Lysol. Ya’all are far more patient and thick skinned than I. One smartass remark and, well,I would tarnish the whole lefty blogosphere. There’d be bail money involved and the whole thing would be a mess.

Good thing I’m just a teeny little blogger on the B team, lol.

Can I be on your team? I’m afraid we see eye to eye on this matter.

Hartford Courant says “Landslide Joe” Courtney-D won in CT-02.

I’ll try to pick up the exact linky for you.

And good morning indeed. Now can I have my coffee?

This is that part that got my hackles up:

Moments later, the partisan crowd erupted. Courtney received a bear hug from Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., the architect of the party’s House victory. “It was really more of a cross-body block,” Courtney said. “He almost knocked me over.” The three other Democrats in the next Connecticut delegation met him with hugs and handshakes.

That is not to say that we don’t have our own problems in our desire to help people we often rely on complex solutions that the right never forgives us when they don’t work. We at least try however I prefer the simple approach of Socrates to the complex approach of Kant. In our desire to help people we should be more careful about picking solutions that work in the real world. A graduated flat tax that places most of the tax burden on the rich for example would simplify taxes and make taxes less complex would be fair and promte business. Currently the tax code is complex and hides how little the rich do pay to maintain our society. When the rich don’t go to Iraq, when the rich don’t pay to support our troops, Yet GOPers think they sacrifice equal to us!
