Kevin Federline's publicist is spinning away. According to him K-Fed is a free man. Yeah… and Rahm Emanuel led the Democrats to victory on Tuesday.
And now, for the first and possibly last time, I will link approvingly to the NRCC and The Hill.
Please don't tell anyone.

Did you see the KFed bounced check on ebay? Hillarious.
His rap career lasted a week. Album released->divorced. HA!
They’re calling him FedEx now! Maybe Rush can have him on to tell him how great his new album is.
One of the funniest bits on Howard Stern is Rush reading some of his audio books. Except the enterprising young producers edit his words together to make hilarious raw combinations.

Wasn’t Spears the one that said something on the order of – “I think we should support our president no matter what he does.”

…and then there’s a hill.
And with regard to Rahm’s kissing cousin Chuck, here’s a poignant excerpt from a neglected diary at DailyKos by the woman who took on Olympia Snowe in the race to represent Maine in the Senate:
Jean Hay Bright, outspent on the order of $3 million to $112,000, by Snowe – who became another sudden ‘anti-stay-the-course’ convert in the weeks before voters went to the polls.

Jane’s link to Howie is worth pursuing, because Howie’s article provides a great rebuttal to all of the Rahm-did-it-all nonsense. And Howie’s blog has a direct icon for Spotlighting. I sent his post to CNN/MSNBC hosts/reporters, but it desserves much wider distribution by/to others.
montag @ 54

randiego @ 50
Sklar does have a ‘hot’ brain, and seems to know how best to use it. I do find that attractive.
The way to beat these guys is one netroots Congressman and one netroots Senator at a time. We got two senators this time out, and I don’t know how many Congressmen (can’t bring myself to write Congresspersons, it doesn’t scan). There will always be Rahms. Our role is to keep an eye on them and expose them if they get their hand in the kitty. It’s like taking off a bandage. You have to rip it off right away to avoid excrutiating pain. Same with the Rahm’s if they start covering an infection.

Bush: I do get to keep these, don’t I Nancy?
I think he’s quit believing his narrative.
Rahm dearth House
Rahm won with 79% of the vote. My candidate, also in Illinois, lost because of the gerrymandering of our district after the 2000 census.
I wonder whether there were some agreements made to sacrifice our seat in northwest Illinois so that Rahm and others seats could be secured?
There is much that needs to be done to make our congress representational again. Michael Bloomsberg and his targeted help to Lieberman’s campaign is anti-democratic to the max.
I think gerrymandering and the question of how we make our congressional seats truly representative must be addressed.
It’s bittersweet experiencing this national victory. So happy for the results around the country (which I supported financially and phonebanking). Locally we worked so hard for Dick Auman, but he didn’t have a chance in our gerrymandered district.
Lots to do to restore our shining light on the hill.
punaise @ 58
Who would expect anything less from such a Crusoe why should I think differently?
Cozumel @ 63
That’s interesting. How did you determine that? Is there a list/summary of who was supported and who won/lost (and by how much) that exists on a blog that can be spotlighted? Jane has posted some and Howie does more in that link, but I’m still looking for the whole list. That’s what we need to get to the media analysts before the self-promoting Rahm story is becomes established legend.

Nope. There are a dozen Republicans who think they should be president who would scream bloody murder – and possibly commit it.
Wait, wait…
To me this looks like either a symptom of the insider mentality where they only want to compete against each other. Either that, or…
“C’mon, guys, we gotta have your predictable, bland, business-friendly candidates to run against. Or we might lose. Get it together!”
twolf1 @

No, that was Claire McCaskill.
No, I don’t think you should worry. I think that the Gambinos have made such a mess that St Ronnie could come back from the dead and still not avoid the fallout.
I was searching for this YouTube tonight and it turns out Connecticut Bob reprised it yesterday at http://preview.tinyurl.com/y6vat3 . It illustrates very well, IMHO, how the threat of a serious primary opponent could be used to get wayward Dems to keep their noses clean.
I’m going to argue that Dems who start (or continue) to cozy up to the K Street interests should be primary targets for the next BlueAmerica campaign, provided there are high quality progressives willing to challenge them in the Democratic primary. I’d like to see a shot across the bow, so to speak, the next time the opportunity presents itself.

So CD-Rahm tried to knock Jon Tester outta the primary in MT, eh? Tester handled Rahmen Noodle’s hand-picked boy, and now a long-term incumbant. Will any of these “centrists” ever learn from these experiences? Tester gets my vote for some of the best lines from this campaign season, like this one from a debate…
“He wants to weaken the Patriot Act,” Burns said of Tester.
Tester sought to clarify:
“I don’t want to weaken the Patriot Act, I want to repeal it.”
And…
“With things like the Patriot Act,” Tester said, “We’d damn well better keep our guns.”

I work in TV so when I get home I don’t actually watch a lot of TV… Tuesday night’s election coverage was the first time I actually saw Rahm Emanuel “live”, as it were, after all these months of reading and hearing about him, and all I could think was, “Man, what a whiny-voiced, punk-ass little bitch.” And he’s supposedly the mastermind, the great architect of the Democratic victory? He couldn’t organize a sandlot baseball game in which he wasn’t picked last…
He reminds me of all those suck-ups I used to want to punch out back in high school, the ones who were supposedly “cool” and ended up becoming Young Republicans in college, living off their trust funds after or going to work for some “think” tank because they couldn’t get a real job.
If Howard Dean doesn’t get his share of credit for Tuesday then the Democrats better enjoy the moment while it lasts, because if they follow the likes of Rahm it ain’t gonna last long…

I’ve been thinking about this a little bit and I’ve run into dead ends about how to do it by geography/community/population and do it fairly. “Fair” is subjective.
I’ve also thought maybe you do it by SS/green card or any other # you are assigned as a citizen of the US, but this concept would indicate that majority would rule and tyranny could rule.
What we need to protect are the rights of the minority, whoever that might be under a particular circumstance.
Anyone else with any thoughts on this?
Perhaps a sobering thought.

R.I. Senator may change party
The above is a link to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette talking about whether or not Lincoln Chafee may or may not switch to the Democratic Party. It seems that the primary reason that he remained a Repub these last few years was to make sure he brought the bacon back to R.I.

moviebrat @ 112
Just FYI for everyone. I’m not endorsing what Lincoln Chafee may or may not do. Just noting that it is interesting and for a couple of reasons. The CW is that Lincoln Chafee is a stand up guy who stays above the sleaziness yet he remained in a party that he didn’t seem to really believe in to keep bringing in the pork to his constituents. And if he was willing to stay a Repub to bring in the pork are there any other Repub Senators who are willing to swap to Dem to bring in more to their states as we transition to a Dem controlled Congress/Senate.
Umm, a slight diversion. Shelly Drobny, who’s financing NovaM radio is going to dish on Rahm Emanuel in a moment. The stream info is here.

People are tired of lies and BS and we’re stuck with Rahm & Chuck and the master triangulators – Bill & Hill.
With Chaffee thinking about switching parties after the election, not before — and with Bush firing Rumsfeld after the election, not before . . . maybe they really were self-deluded into thinking Republican values enjoyed actual, widespread and abiding popularity. The first sign that bush is worried about being impeached, will be Darth Chenny stepping down for health reasons. bush will need someone clean who isn’t at all involved in any crimes to be vice president. Beacause bush needs someone besides Nancy Pelosi to be handing out the pardons otherwise Scooter Libby is going to sing. Look for the new Republican speaker of the house to be clean as a whistle. If bush goes down the new speaker of the house is likly the chosen one by the powers that be. Why the powers choose President Ford though is beyound me?

There were a lot of good insights today on the “Popcorn” post. I think it’s important to figure out a “fair” way of determining districts.
I don’t know about the SS or green card. I’m a naturalized citizen myself (Canadian born). It just seems that we can figure out a better way that isn’t just about self-interest. The more objective the better. Maybe some of the other people commenting today will have other thoughts.
powwow500 @ 124
Perhaps if he weren’t running around town taking sole credit for the Democratic win of the House, we wouldn’t be focusing on Rahm and his lies.
lisadawn82@117
Nothing personal. Only, if one defines a “stand up guy” as someone who’s willing to overlook their party’s moral bankruptcy, utter hypocrisy and willingness to expend the lives of our soldiers for the sake of political expediency, merely so they can continue to “bring the bacon home” to their district — which, translated, really means: keep themselves in office by whatever means necessary. I say no thanks; the Republicans can keep him, and anyone else who’s seen the light one day too late.
New Thread…TRex is on fire too-night!
Senate Democrats have begun to reembrace Joseph Lieberman and seem ready to give the former Democrat turned independent a chairmanship in the new Congress that convenes in January, party aides said on Thursday.
I am hopeful enought of a undercurrent of distaste for Rahm,as well as a little “payback”from a caucus of dems who got shafted by this clown will be enough to short-out any further corpratist dreams his handlers have…they know where the power came from I think, regardless who claims it…
