‘autorank’ at DU is the commenter who posted TIA’s analysis and numbers. The comment is at 12:58 p.m. today, 11/9, in the latest Discussion Threads (the headlines you see when you enter DU after the front page). It’s also in their Election Reform forum, I believe. Tucker Carlson has to go. He is such a smarmy, whiny thing. His gratuitous, undocumented, over-the-top swipes at “Dems” in general are WAY behind the times.

Ha ha. I watched cable chat today for the first time in years and was astounded by Carlson. I know everyone has been calling him an idiot but honest to god, HE REALLY IS AN IDIOT!

He had a dem strategist on and a repub one too (Stone?) and they were both agreeing on everything – that Bush was a selfish dumfuck on his timing to fire Rumsfeld and on the whole conduct of this Iraq debacle. The dem (who was great) even said laughingly he was going to cede his time to the repub because agreed with everything he said.

And Tucker just started arguing with both of them!!! Defending the war, talking about brown people coming to get us. It was insane!

Yes. Precisely. That was what I saw. Tucker ought to leave cable teevee now that he’s getting so pudgy — and go on wingnut welfare.

Maybe he can be an editor over at NewsMax or something.

And that conflict was just about the beginning of the end of my participation on the DFA blog. We were split about half/half on that comment. But people were piling into the website with comments not fit to print.

DFA was the very first website I found after I got my computer for Mother’s day. My son-in-law plugged it in, set it up, and said “yell at the computer about Bush, not us”.

I’ve never been a sore loser in my life but I just cannot believe that everyone got their asses kicked but ole joe. I don’t care how much the gop spent to support him. He is a WATB and his re-election just does not jive. Plus, we know what a cheating man he is. I just can’t see how it happened.

I know. If Joe had been honest about being a Republican he would have been gone in a heartbeat. But he was allowed to call himself an Independent Dem (with seniority and all that good stuff) and, of course, Clinton broadcast that whether Ned or Joe won it was cool, because either way there would be a Dem senator from CT.

Then Joe lied about every single campaign issue – saying he was anti-war, would NEVER privatize social security, etc.

He took away everything that Ned could use to get traction.

Caught your comment about the 501-type organization. It’s possible, but we’d have to do a 501(c)3, I think.

Ideally, a 527 each for state-local and a 527 for national-state are established in each county. They rent space from the 501, which may include use of other resources like computers and printers.

A 501(c)4 is set up for voter education; it can’t endorse a candidate, but that’s what the 527’s are for. It can support initiatives. The 501(c)4 handles issues like teaching folks how to become more effective activists, trains candidates in how to run effective and legal campaigns, trains poll workers on how to keep elections clean.

A 501(c)3 is the service vehicle that provides assistance to community members. It can’t endorse candidates either, but it can support initiatives that serve their clientele.

There, I think I laid out the structure. As little as 2, as many as 4 organizations required to fulfill the objectives of permanent Democratic bases on American soil. Heh.
