New Hampshire results are coming in now. And both seats may go blue. NH-01, with 40% of precincts counted has Carol Shea-Porter ahead with 51%. And although NH-02 only has 21% of the precincts counted, Hodes is beating Bass 57-42%; still early. Neither candidate is Rahmish and both are progressive and grassroots.
In Virginia it is still a see-saw race between Webb and Macacawitz. It looks like all incumbents are being returned although in VA-02, with 57% of precincts counted, Kellam and Drake are separated by less than 2,000 votes. Right now she's ahead 51-49%.
In Florida it looks like Harris has broken through the 30s and will wind up with 40% of the vote. With about a third of the vote counted statewide Florida is electing recently-outed Republican gay closet case Charlie Crist as governor. What a liberal place!!! Or is it clueless? Only 9% of the votes in FL-22 have been counted and Klein is ahead of Shaw 51-47%. See-saw battle in FL-16 with Foley-Negron barely ahead of Republican-"turned"-Dem Tim Mahoney, 49-48%. And Rahm's puppet in FL-13, Christine Jennings is losing to far right extremist Vern Buchanan, 53-47% with about half the votes counted.
In Georgia it looks like both right-wing Democratic incumbents, John Barrow (GA-12) and Jim Marshall (GA-08) are in serious trouble, more so Barrow.
Illinois is just starting to count votes but Bean is ahead in IL-08 and Kirk is ahead in IL-10 .
With over half the votes counted in Indiana it looks like Ellsworth will be soon joined by Donnelly and Hill as fascist slayers.
96% of precincts in in KY-03 and Yarmuth has increased his lead over Northup. HUGE victory for the good guys. Lucas and Weaver are still within range but its now an uphill battle for both.
In New Jersey Menendez routed Junior Kean.
Ohio is off to a great start with Brown kicking DeWine's ass and Strickland beating Blackwell by a mile.
In Pennsylvania, Santorum has been unceremoniously kicked out of office– looks like a landslide. Early results in the congressional races show Lois Murphy beating Gerlach Patrick Murphy beating Fitzpatrick, and Carney slaughtering The Choker. Rendell of course, is swamping Swann.
Corker is beating Ford in Tennessee but only 19% of the precincts are in.
And, the networks are calling it for Lieberman, although the official tally shows Ned beating him by 3% so far with 8% of precincts reporting. Early results in the Connecticut House races show Courtney, and Murphy beating the Repugs but Farrell still struggling to catch Shays (with 3% of the vote counted).

Tiberi vs. Shamansky in the next district over from OH-15: 43,000ish 41,000ish. Closer than it was polled. But Ken Blacksmell’s last botched election may have saved it for R) Tiberi.

Hi Howie !!
I am destined for EPU’d land this evening….
Kentucky Woman @ 127
Holy shit!! GO WEBB!!
Cardin holds off Steele “Democrat”.
Count the votes!
NED!
Please decide/announce after the majority of precincts are counted…..
Attempted to post to the last thread, but it was closed. . . .
Folks, campaigns always have volunteers that report data from the precincts as the polls close. The official poll judges send their tallies to the Registrar of Voters, and the campaign staff folks call their supervisors. The campaigns always tally faster – they only are tallying one race, not dozens – and so they’ve usually got a faster handle on how well they have done.
If Ned says it’s over, it’s because he’s seen the numbers that we haven’t yet.
But as I look around the eastern half of the country, it’s still been a very good evening.
Santorum? Down!
Harris? Down!
Chafee? Down!
DeWine? Down!
I predicted 7 in the Senate and 40 in the House, and I think that is still well within the realm of possibility.
Nutmeggers, you all have done great work, and shown the rest of the country how to stand proudly as progressives. Thanks!
What about those “tsunami-inducing” IN/KY house races, Howie?
Argh. I hit the wrong dang key. I’m terrible at numbers.
Webb’s getting very, very close!
Attention recount attorneys! Mopup on aisle VA!

Jane kicking ass.
VA’s page is hanging on the update again.
The VA Sen battle hasn’t been see-saw. Webb led only once, early on. Since then, it’s been Allen, with Webb playing catch-up.
FWIW-
Nancy Johson concedes CT CD-5 to (D) Murphy.
EPU’d from the last (far too quickly, I might add) (and thbbppptttt to you, punaise, too. If I want to quote a troll soz I can blast it, I ought to be allowed to):
Don’t you dare say that “Ned money” should have been given to Harold (Repub lite) Ford, Jr. How dare you? He ran a really good campaign with a really lousy message. What conservative Tennessean in their right mind would even give him a second thought? Now, had he run as a NOT Republican, he would have won, but he began triangulating four years ago and he couldn’t stop at this late date. So go to H*** Mr. Iknow better than you Concern Troll.
It’s totally platonic, Mr. Reddhedd.

I just called Trysts and sent Mr. & Mrs. Reddhead a Cosmopolitan to their table. They said sure-no problem.

Great job on the interview Christie!
Ned didn’t concede, did he?
And, the networks are calling it for Lieberman, although the official tally shows Ned beating him by 3% so far with 8% of precincts reporting.

You know what else? There are millions of Americans looking at CNN going, “what’s a blogger?”
And now they’re being introduced to people we know and love (or not, on the other side), and how many new FDL readers are being created right now?
They’ll try to spin it otherwise, but this is the netroots’ election.
Jane’s interview is over.
punaise @ 35
I wonder if Charlie Crist likes Knob Creek…
JCasper–
Agreed, re: Jane on AA; made the point about this being a progressive, not a conservative, Dem victory which will be an important meme to push the rest of the night and through the first couple of 24 hour newscycles….

CNN and some of the networks are calling the Md governor’s race for the O’Malley over Ehrlich, too. Lots of hard work and prayers are paying off.
Don’t feed, please. If this is how they must be, let them. Time will tell…it always does.
Robb:
That was one huge spike. The difference was about 3K, now it’s over 25K, bam! Like that.
Mr. Casper,
You got mad typing skilz?
How ’bout some livebloggin’?
Ned had better not concede any time soon.
I’ve been dealing with an emergency today so I haven’t been able to follow as closely as I would have liked.
I see at least one troll is busy tonight.
Redd talking about 11/8. Way to go.
Now it’s time for Casey, Brown, Menendez, and Whitehouse to pay off that last NED $2,000,000 loan.
NED should say: “You’re welcome, gentlemen!”
Gentlemen, start your (fundraising) engines.

I noticed that. Huge spike out of nowhere.
Ricky boy is saying he lost…YEA
Gotta love that e-voting in VA, eh?
Boy, that was a little nervewracking. OMG — I was live on CNN.
Something is really—really—fishy about this VA race…
Santorum conceding as we speak.
DairyMaid @ 68
Look like some last minute diebold style hanky panky did it?
bye bye loser
Poor little ricky….
nice to hear Santorum concede … phew!
Geez, they’re basing the Lieberman win only on the exit vote with only 14% of precincts reporting?!?!
little ricky on msnbc

I agree. I hope Webb’s team is questioning this.

Our dear ReddHead –
You were great! You looked wonderful, sounded very smart.
A big hug to you! Thanks again for all you do.
Lieberman not declaring victory yet and Gerstein calling the AP premature. They’re waiting for a concession from Lamont.
Santorum’s gone?
Woo-hoo!
*whine* I checked my cookies (chocolate chip) and missed Christy :(
Congratulations, Christy, you came off great and I’m proud to have you (and Jane) as our spokespersons.
You and Jane helped pull off two nearly impossible things: Lieberman lost the Dem primary in CT, and you got me involved in politics. Thank you.
It’s not the kids’ fault their daddy is a doosh. Take it easy on ‘em. Speakout @ 89
Santorum just thanked God in his concession speech. Ironically, I was doing the exact same thing.
Jozo won’t announce until Ned calls.

What do I need to look for to know if something is in NoVA? I don’t know the counties there.
Saw Christy on CNN. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you pointed out that every Dem owes Lamont a debt of thanks for changing the terms of the discussion.
Lamont may have filed the role in this cycle that Dean filled in 2004, giving a set of gonads to the wimp party. We Dems need more real men, by which I mean men and women who fearlesly speak truth to power and talk about things that really matter
I totally thought we could get VA!! I hope the tide changes–and fast!

He’s been behind all night, except fo a brief time after the polls closed.
Lamont for Senate 2012!
WOOHOOO!!!!!NH Senate!
They were predicting a bit less than a 30% turnout in New Orleans. At my precinct, the figure was 31%, but there were a lot of voters who were no longer in New Orleans and had not yet been purged from the rolls. People kept coming right up to closing at 8. There was also a good turnout in the 9th Ward. I looked at the figures from two precincts, and Karen Carter was ahead (by 52% in the precincts I looked at…but that was just two). I guess we’ll know tomorrow.
I wanna see Joe indicted for that slush fund.
Unfortunately, we desperately need him to avoid the GOP retaining control and that’s assuming we can hold MO and some others.
damn, Kentuckians voted to keep Davis.
Rob Zuber @ 221
I can’t get it to refresh.
Lamont for President 2008
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.
Nothing will help a Clinton win like a 3rd party candidate. Worked in ‘92, and I think this might be the game plan in ‘08.
Independent Joe, Unity ‘08, I’m just sayin’…
NH Senate? Splain please…

Agree. And his robocalls.
CNN says we keep our Dem seat in IN-07 (Carson). Cool.

John Casper @ 233
No, we don’t. If he wants to bolt, good riddance. If he wants to make Judas Iscariot look good, I’ll be happy to stand there and make sure the door whacks him firmly in the ass on his way across the aisle.

That last number is the most infuriating. Who funded this creep?
McCain whining on Fox
ccmask @ 235
Yes, up against lil’ ricky.
Jane,
Please don’t give up on Ned just yet. I checked at TPM there are only 13% of precincts in and the spread is only 4%. Please keep sending Ned all our good energy and positive vibes.
Look at Carol Shea-Porter in NH. Per TRex she is ahead with 51% after 40% precincts counted. She was completely blown off by Rahm and the “establishment”. So ALL her funding was local and minimal and she owes the vichy dems absolutely Nothing.
Tonight’s the night the Universe rights itself and washes away the crap we have been living with for 6 years.
Looks who is calling for CNN-not too friendly to our side. So lets not quit on Ned until about 93% of precincts in – I feel in my gut its going to be a squeaker with about a 1% spread and Holy Joe screaming for a recount-which is fine becuase then the absentee and provisional ballots get counted.
*ilson!!! Our man in Indiana.
Will he back now?
I thought KO was supposed to be on TV this evening? Did I miss the announcement that he wasn’t going to be on??? I don’t know about anybody else, but at this point I’m flipping between MSNBC and CNN. It’s easy… every time I hear Tweety’s voice I leave…

Cincinatti influence. First question to Davis after victory speech: “WHO are you wearing?”
Just about time for Mr. Burns to start sweating…
Update on NC-11:
Looks like another DEM pick-up
Heath Shuler DEM 69,209
Charles H. Taylor REP 62,968
So far we have three wins in the Senate, and the House is ours. Three more Senate seats and the Senate is ours. Even if we don’t take the Senate, we are much stronger then we were yesterday. We need to focus on a strong candidate for the presidency in 2008.
Grandma M @ 252
CNN showed Lamont conceding a few minutes.
Speakout @ 174
I don’t know about Blackwell (except that he’s a crook), but Cruella Harris’ campaign never even got off the ground. The republicans turned on her. She could write a great book about the 2000 (s)election, but she’d probably go to prison for it. Bill Nelson – a centrist who voted for cloture on Alito – has always been popular with republican Floridians (Gag!).
Respectful Dissent @ 228
Maybe 2010? :)
yeah, but Davis is such a tool. Of all the people to keep…
Oklahoma kiddo @

First we need to focus on accountability and getting some real legislation on the table- we wont need a strong candidate for ‘08 if we turn all of the nation onto progressive beliefs
then we get real changes;)
The site is holding up very, very well this time. Much better than 8/8.
MIKE SODREL CONCEDING TO BARON HILL ON LOCAL CBS!!!!!!!!!
Fairfax county and Louden Co. and much of Prince William Co. still not in. Webb still in the game…
My good for nothing senator, Obama, will feel my wrath for not helping Ned against Loserman: I will work my butt off to get Obama defeated from any office he runs for.

John McCain must be beaten in 2008.
Fini FiniTOOBZ! @ 263
No way!
Twisted Martini — heh. Funny. But I was sweating it after all that door-knocking, getting the “angry-white-women-who-can’t-afford-retail-therapy” who were so p*ssed off they weren’t sure they were going to vote for Granholm. I really didn’t know whether I was going to have to sell Amway products or move to Canada after the bruising.
There is still so much work to do now after the dust settles; it’s amazing the things we are learning even now, while pouring over numbers from the different precincts. We can see urban flight literally reflected in the numbers, can see which minority communities continue to believe themselves to be disenfranchised to the point where they still did not vote (14% turnout in a 94% Dem precinct — what’s that tell you? Yeesh.)
Count the bodies as they fall, people, but be prepared to do a thorough post-mortem if you want to continue the wave in 2008.

Yessssss….another redneck asshat gone!
Just took a look a Minnesota and Patty is behind again. :( Do people still think we will take the House? Just reassure me. We are only 1/3 through the country so I should just chill, huh?
DairyMaid @ 264
I hope you’re right. What’s taking them so long?
There are scores to settle.
Blue Indiana, who knew? Maybe I don’t have to move after all.

I did that allll wrong. Preview is my friend.

Yeah, we’ve got the House. Only question is by how much.
GrandmaJ @ 272
Yes, we’ll take the House. I haven’t heard a single talking head, anywhere, questioning that.
I’ve given up even trying to keep up with all the threads.
Howie, any word from Kansas 2? Locally they’re reporting Boyda (D) at 54 percent over Ryun (R-incumbent). That would be a big upset.
Loebsack has early lead over Leach in IA-02. This race has been under the radar, but Dave is doing very well in a Democratic district that has a “moderate” rethug in Leach. This does not appear to be a very good night for moderate repubs.
LJ/Aquaria @ 272
I don’t know. just checking the Sec. of St. website…
Why is Bennett still considered a worthy pundit? Shouldn’t he be in Vegas, watching what happens with his point spreads?

Loudon and Prince William went for Kaine last year (governor) but they historically vote Repuke.
Good God – Mathews is crapping all over the Dems. So damn critical, and lobbing soft balls to McCain.
I will not stand for his bias, this is BullShit.

Tell me about it. I’m not exactly a fan of Nelson, but what choice do I have? He also was one of 8 (or so) senators to vote against the Habeus Corpus.

That’s sage advice, and everyone needs to take it to heart. I’m very interested to see many more successes. But picking this one apart, to the bones, is going to be very beneficial.

Well I agree with him on being hard with Dean; he knows Dean HAS to think up an actual plan and he has to do it FAST!
but ya, hes barely challangign Mccain, I think he realizes its futile to play hardball with him, he knows exactly what mccain will say before even asking the question
