According to an e-mail I got, Bill Clinton was supposed to campaign for Jerry McNerney yesterday at a Get Out The Vote rally. It was all organized with 24 hour notice. I wonder if it happened.

‘Morning, FirePups!! Another day at the Dem organization office doing phonebanking, have to leave shortly.

So great to hear folks say, “I’ll be there on the 7th; wish I could vote Bush out of office NOW!”

We need to change the message in the media; this morning’s Today Show led off with a crapload of coverage on Kerry. It’s a classic dolchestasse; they are making out Kerry to be the harbinger of the Four Horsemen, when nothing could be further from the truth.

I ask myself repeatedly: Is this news?

Nothing on the American soldier left in Sadr City at the orders of al Maliki — that’s real news.

Nothing on the latest Israeli raid on Gaza — that’s real news, isn’t it?

Nothing on Russia doubling the price of natural gas to Georgia — isn’t that real news, if it affects the overall natural gas market?

Some limited coverage on the alleged Syrian-Iran threat to Lebanon — but is this news or propaganda in advance of an attack on Iranian or Syrian interests?

It’s just “Kerry’s bad joke” all the time. Nothing about the attempted-and-failed October Surprise that cost 80 lives when a drone fired on a madrassa that didn’t contain al Zawahiri.

And nothing at all about Cheney’s shredding party (we should be working on a court order to stop this…Fitz??)

Agh. Mainstream media is little more than a digital Potemkin Village — and the programmers are crappy, at that.
