Of the three candidates running, Lieberman is the only who has a proven record of supporting a strong national security policy. The other two have nice sound bites, but that’s pretty much it. Even though I’m a conservative, I’d choose a moderate who’ll stand firm against radical Islam over even a republican who hasn’t proven much. I’d certainly choose Lieberman over a wishy-washy Democrat who fails to acknowledge that radical Islamists are enemies that we’ll be defending against for the next few decades.

Congratulations on the stunning manner in which this and other blogs have helped Ned soar from the depths of a 51% victory to the heights of nearly 36%. Anymore help from the likes of you, and he’ll rival Bush’s approval!

Say it loud, say it proud.

Senator Joe Lieberman (I). Will be REAL funny if his vote leaves the Senate effectively controlled by the Republicans.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Shut up, “Swannie.” As for you, Jane, “fun,” my ass. Ned’s getting killed and I want my money and caring back. I hope his little family enjoyed Maine after the primary, where instead of crushing Joe’s throat with his boot, he waited while ‘really important DC people talked to Joe about maybe please dropping out.’ Yeah, right. Maybe they should have talked to the sun about rising in the west from now on.

Christy Hardin Smith @
68

Hugh at 65 — didn’t OPEC announce that they were going to meet to discuss cutting production even more this week or next? (And how lovely is it that they are thinking of doing that right before winter, when poor folks have to fill up their heating oil tanks…SIGH)

OPEC may be “cutting” production because they have no other choice because their oil fields are entering depletion and they can’t keep their oil production up. The US did the same thing when it peaked in 1971: “voluntary” production cuts.

Of course, after that, when oil prices went through the roof, oil companies in Texas put in hundred of new oil wells spurred by the high prices, and were rewarded by a 30% *drop* in oil production. Once you hit peak, it’s over.

I’m with TRex, that was just unpleasant last night. It takes all the fun out of this when people just obsess about something in a post, and lead a thread into the thickets.

TRex, and all our hosts, have earned plenty of points, and if they cross some personal line I might have from time to time, I just ignore it. If it happens too often, I’ll go somewhere else. If it really bothers you, well, why hi-jack a thread? Send an e-mail. But, let’s not drag the rest of us into meta blogging, like this post, which I never will do again.
