would be terrific as I know my husband and I tried many years ago to enlist the high school kids to get involved. For awhile, the Town Clerk would go to the school and have the ones old enough to register to vote…we have one now that would do the same I am sure. I can put you intouch with our local Dem. Chairman and even one of the Congressmen if you would be interested. If I were maybe 20 years younger, I might physically try to help you here, but that is not in the cards…but I can get names for you .

Missouri. Critical for taking back the Senate, close race, volunteers will make a difference. And push NJ, Dems could LOSE an existing Dem state in the Senate.

Please forgive my OT – but I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to watch the CT debate tonight? I am in MN and it should be happening in an hour and a half. it doesn’t appear to be scheduled on CSpan.

We’re hoping to expand our volunteer options and cities a lot over the final 19 days. I’d love to hear what types of work you all plan to do so we can make sure we’re covering everything. And, what do you find most effective (and fun): phone banks? canvassing? house parties? poll watching on Election Day? driving voters to the polls?

i don’t know what’s the most effective… as for what i like, to my suprise, i kinda like canvassing (especially if the weather is fine)… didn’t think i would, but its fun to meet people and have a reason to ask what they care about and why. i hate phone banking, but it is the easiest thing to do and, as professor foland says, it’s good for the soul.

i confess, mostly… i’d rather be doing something else. but, i don’t think i could live with myself if i just kept my head in the sand, ostrich-like.

i plan to do some more local phone banking, moveon phonebanking and visits to CT for the lamont campaign. after november, probably back to anti-war action… and i hope more local stuff.

I love canvassing too. It’s nice to get off the phones, off the computer, and actually get to talk face-to-face with voters.
