Americans… I think we should use images that are totally contemporary, totally up to the moment, images that speak to every one whether he/she is 14 or 74. I think Ellis Island might be lost on lots of people. Having said that, I think you’re onto something. I’ve already started a large painting of the U.S. flag with said images. Not that many people are comfortable looking at political/social works. It’s a dirty job but somebody has to do it.

I paint too. I was thinking of a painting to do in sorrow for this country’s death.
I thought I’d have ellis island as a detention center for americans and show a person screaming in pain. I haven’t thought it through completely yet to do a rough sketch.
