In CA-50, Bilbray No Longer Safe

In California’s 50th congressional district, a new SurveyUSA poll shows Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-CA) barely ahead of Francine Busby (D), 49% to 46%. Since the last poll, Bilbray has lost 5 points and Busby has gained 6 points.

Key finding: “Most of the shrinkage in Bilbray’s advantage is because the Republican edge in the composition of CA-50 likely voters has decreased from 14 points to 6 points.”

My understanding was that this used to be a pretty safe Republican seat in San Diego.

Last Friday Chris Bowers at MyDD didn’t even list CA-50 in the top 27 races that Dems could take away.
