Does anyone know if the GOP has cut funding for things like women’s shelters,programs to help abused children,stuff like that? Seems to me this is part and parcel of the environment that allowed Foley(and he is not the only one,no way would the GOP go this far to cover one fairly low on the big scale congresscritter)that would allow child predators to operate unchecked for so long.

What really disgusts me is that appearantly people have been warning kids in the page program for years about various pervs in Congress. Why in the hell were these people even being ALLOWED to have their jobs while doing this kind of thing? And,do they give the parents of these kids the same warnings? I mean,I knew politics was a sleazy bidness,but if this has been going on for perhaps decades,I have to wonder what sort of environment is there to allow it to happen over and over and over again.

It’s so sad. This page program sounds like a really great thing and now it’s tainted by becoming a pool for child predators to fish around in. Hell,I’d love to go back to high school if I could have my classroom in the Library of Congress. And now these kids will lose faith in public service,which is another crime,even if it’s not legally so.

Ashcroft doesn’t believe the president would knowingly lie to the public.

He also doesn’t believe the Patriot Act is as controversial as people make it — 88 Senators voted for it, after all. Yah. Like they had much of a choice, being told a bunch of lies about sunsetting and harangued with the label “traitor” if they didn’t sign.

I am so embarrassed for her, she only lacked Katie’s little dimpled perky smile as she rolled over.

But I’m even more embarrassed and disgusted that this moron was our attorney general for any length of time. The only constructive, positive thing he did on our dime is recuse himself from the CIA Leak investigation.

And Old Sow, it is really troubling how common this experience is. And how common too, the response NOT TO TELL. For victims of rape, incest or molestation. The message is ingrained that somehow, these victims are to blame. As if the crime of being raped or molested is not bad enough, then to have to suffer in silence, with a sense of shame. And how devastating, particularly, for a child.

Good Christ, to have this Drudge person out in front, openly blaming the kids involved in this crime; blaming the victims who are children – I am left speechless over this. But this guy is VILE. He has got to pay for these remarks.
