Bush is, in fact, attempting to destroy the US and its constitution. The reasons for this are twofold – 1) Revenge – the Bush family (both Presidents and all the related criminal brothers and cousins) are seeking revenge against America for their Grandfather’s conviction for treason during WWII; and 2) Greed – Bush is always ready to commit treason, to betray the National Security Interest and the United States if it means a quick buck for him and his buddies.

I have spent enough time in WVA to understand the depth of your feelings. For thos who are undoctrinated in WVA doctrination, IIRC, two PBS channels constantly harp on the extremely proud heritage of the boys coming out of the hills on call of service to this country.

windje & Margot – thanks for the dragon recommend. does it work for recordings of various speakers (for example – hearings such as this afternoon)?

it’s alot of money (for me), but if it worked, and if transcripts of these hearings i record would be use to firepups… i’ll get it. anyone with more info or if you could check with friends who use it, i’d be very grateful.

Not only that (PC only, as you mentioned), if I’m not mistaken, Dragon (no matter which version is used) has to be trained to recognize a speaker’s voice. Using Dragon, the speaker would have to read text appearing on the user’s monitor to create a voice profile stored on the speaker’s hard drive. Each person using Dragon would have to create a separate voice profile and read what’s on the computer monitor. So Dragon, unfortunately, almost certainly can’t be used to transcribe audio from television, radio, podcast, and so forth.

thanks sp, that’s what it sounded like to me too (from reading the review). my $ is staying in my pocket for now…. and i will continue to record hearings, etc for my own use (and to put up fair use clips for netroots use).

Batiste: The result will be a civil war of some magnitude and will turn into a regional war. Cites the Kurds and the Turks. The impact of Iran — the shia/sunni clash will impact all of the countries in the region . Sadly, we got into this without doing our homework.

Eaton: we have played into the hands of a resurgent State of Iran.

Hammes: there will be civil war, it will spread and will affect the oil market. Audio out.

EPU’ed but a few stray thoughts.

1) There is a civil war right now.

2) Moving our forces out of Iraq does not mean moving them out of the area. They could still influence and moderate events in Iraq.

3) An important point I harp on is the issue of heavy weapons. Currently, the Iraqi military doesn’t have them nor do any of the militias. Whoever gets them will win the civil war. How many Iraqis die or regionalizing the conflict like whether or not there is a civil war are moot points. These things are already happening.

While I agree with the generals criticisms, I do not agree with their solution: stay the course on steroids or with their prognosis. It could be as bad as they say but the likelihood is that it will not be.

As for Hillary and her “a date certain” question, I detect some CYA there.
