I bet Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter give him some measure of grudging respect.

If Rush and Ann were moral people, this might mean something. I mean, when you win the respect of people of principle, it does mean something. But what kind of principle do people have when they’re not vociferously condemning a President who has ordered torture?

You know what he is? Look up Maurice Maeterlink’s quote about the inquisition. Lieberman is the man who is pounding the pulpit and saying that we must not burn too many heretics. Some, sure, but not too many.

(Note to the illiterate rightwingers about to seize on that statement: look up the word “metaphor”. Then come ask some questions; I’ll try to help.)

Howie (and Gloria), your job is not to parrot the concerns of politicians either supporting or opposed to the president, and otherwise shut up. It is to try to portray the truth and the evidence, and in so doing, point out which of those politicians (including the president) are in line with the truth, and which are not.

If you honestly believe that you should be concerned with being percieved as “part of the opposition” because you question the GOP line (note how he isn’t concerned with being percieved as “part of the administration”), the at best you’re begging to be bullied and at worst have already given up. Either way, pack up your desk and let someone take over who actually wants to do the job.

This is priceless! Never mind that Republicans and the Armed Forces are leading the charge against Bush’s military commissions bill. Since when are skepticism about bullshit and concern about Star Chamber standards of justice “oppositional”?

None seemed to know the first difference between Common Article 3 and the “shocks the conscience” standard, never mind all the other jokers in Bush’s deck. Imagine how it feels to the MSM and corrupt political folks: all of the old shit that used to work so well and was so easy to use is now being called Bullshit within minutes of its occurance.

I’ll bet SR Sidarth was not the first to be called Macaca. In fact I’ll bet Felix used it all the time. If he tries to use it again, he’ll be the feature film on YouTube within minutes.

I made my first campaign commercial/attack ad this weekend for the Charlie Brown campaign about Congressman John Doolittle’s Corrupt support of sweatshops in the Marianas and his support for their practices of Forced Abortions and Sex Slavery.

I can’t begin to tell you how therapeutic it was. I’m talking downright cathartic. I did it with my simple PC, an $80 video editing program and pictures and audio publicly available on the web.

I think I’ll do another one this week about JoeMentum. Perhaps a Rodney Dangerstien – Can’t Get No Respect kinda thing! :)
