Jennifer Nix: I’d offer my proofreading services as well, I’m pretty ~~anal retentive~~ good at paying attention to those details. But if you’re keeping Evan Camfield & Emily DeHuff from How Would A Patriot Act?, I don’t think it’ll be needed; they did a fantastic job. The only thing that jumped out at me in that entire book was somewhat inappropriate use of the words “instinct” and “instinctive”, and that’s more an authorial style thing than proofreading.

emptywheel: Seeing about your nick now, I’m reminded of a fictional news article I read (OK, OK, so it was the Weekly World News) about the upcoming oil shortage, featuring a Dutch “researcher” whose name, if you abbreviated the first two, came out to “M.T. Taanke”. :)

The great thing about this book is that it has the potential to be a best-seller based on its riveting story value alone, if marketed properly.

John LeCarre couldn’t write a better novel. Truth once again trumps fiction.

Why bring LeCarre into it? I’d think All The President’s Men would be the obvious comparison.
