People were making excellent use of the "Spotlight" project this morning to contact media outlets and express their concerns over the wingnut hit piece that ABC is about to relase, to quote Digby, without commercials as a "gift to the Repubican party" in an election year.
Mark Steckel, who runs the Spotlight Project, offers this advice for turning the heat up on your local ABC affiliate and asking them how they feel about airing this hogwash:
Re Spotlight – Some folks may want to contact local ABC affiliates. This can be done by.
1) Unchecking “Print”
2) checking “TV”
3) Check “Regional”
4) Enter a two-letter state code
5) press “Update”
6) select targets
7) press “Next”And continue as normal.
If you want to see even more contacts you can all click “more>>” to see expanded options and then check “All”.
You can check out the Spotlight project by clicking here, or at the bottom of each post. Mark says that as of 12:30 pm PT there had been 476 original emails generated with it regarding this docuhoax. That’s very excititing.
Digby offers some fodder for letters folks might write to the broadcasters in their own area:
There is obviously nothing wrong with these conservative activists making films. There have always been those with a conservative point of view in Hollywood; studio bosses and network executives tend to be conservative in all senses of the word. But it is more than a little bit odd that ABC chose this particular creative duo to develop and film a hugely expensive six hour mini-series about the political culpability for 9/11. You’d think they could have found some people who were less politically invested in a particular point of view than these two.
It’s even more odd that they have gone such great lengths to advertise it as being based upon the bipartisan 9/11 Commission Report when, in fact, they optioned two other books as sources for the film, one of which is widely touted on the right. Therefore, the series is quite obviously a compilation of several sources and the product of the worldview of its rightwing creative team. In other words it is a work of fiction. To advertise it as being "based" on the 9/11 Commission Report is a fraud on the public.
And now they have announced that they will not show advertising on this big 40 million dollar investment and will distribute it for free to 100,000 educators around the country and on i-tunes. It’s basically a gift to the Republican party and the conservative movement.
What is going on over at Disney/ABC? Are they selling out their shareholders to a small shadowy group of Hollywood rightwingers because they share their worldview? Or is it just a gambit for Disney to keep Focus on the Family on their side as they roll out the "Narnia" franchise? Has Disney been so successfully mau-maued by the religious right that they are now in the business of blatantly propping up the Republican Party on its behalf?
Whatever it is, it’s quite clear that they are determined to make the nation believe this work of fiction is a credible depiction of the events leading up to 9/11 when it is quite clearly a biased political drama written with the intention of making the Clinton administration culpable for the attacks in the minds of Americans. They chose people with a politiical and cultural agenda to make this film and have been dishonest in promoting it.
What is going on over at Disney?
Also worthy of note, Louise Slaughter is calling bullshit on this wingnut revisionism:
The anniversary of the attacks is an emotional time, and it is wrong for anyone to play on those emotions and use them to advance a political agenda.
"This is, regrettably, what many top Administration officials are doing with the rhetoric we have heard of late," Rep. Slaughter said. "We have been told we are in a fight against a new kind of fascism, and that individuals who question our current path in Iraq are morally equivalent to Nazi appeasers and those who would justify slavery."
"Such claims are more than just morally reprehensible and deeply irresponsible. They are also damaging to our country, making it difficult, if not impossible, to have a serious, non-partisan discussion about how best to protect our nation."
This stuff is not inocuous, it seeps into the culture and becomes taken as canon. Pushing back against it is important, if for no other reason than to make them think twice about doing it again.

What the hell is going on? I just watched Chris Matthews burn through a quart of Jergen’s lotion giving a handjob to Tony Snow.
The Empire is striking back.

We own a fair amount of apple stock and I’m considering selling it. I know, should’ve sold it around Christmas, but we’ve been loyal. UNTIL NOW!

ABC tries to clarify, even further, its propadrama;

Also, check out Taylor Marsh’s site for some links regarding the Kean family ethics. Thomas Kean, Sr., the Republican co-chair of the 9/11 Commission, was one of the producers of The Path To 9/11. He seems to have some problems figuring out what “conflict of interest” means.
Jane,
The work that this site is doing on this topic is wonderful. It’s on a par with the Plame pushback work.
This is the best thing about the netroots. The power to distrubute information quickly and with citationto first sources.
it has now morphed into another abilty; the abilty to mobilze people in minutes or hours instead of weeks or months. You ladies are shifting the paradigm.
Brava
What do you expect from Matthews, He kept putting those Swift Boat morons on during the last election. Anyone see him address the LA Times series about the Vietnam atrocities. . .of course you haven’t.
Joe’s new website is unavailable.
There is only one logical conclusion.
The site has been hacked again.

Um, in the last 5 years, can you name ANYTHING that ABC has put out that’s been worth watching? I’ll give you “Lost” and the first season of “Desperate Housewives”. That’s pretty much it. My suggestion–turn the box off and read a book. Hell, read “The 9/11 Commission Report”.

you’re absolutely right. everybody make at least one call – schoolboard, local ABC affiliate, apple, scholastic.
apple is taking down my formal complaint right now – hey, i’m multi-tasking! I told the nice lady that the blogosphere is afire, and that if they don’t back out of the free download of Rt9/11 RIGHT NOW, their stock could fall 10% in a week.

Well, you haven’t gotten orders from Kos.
You’re obviously not part of the rabid lambs’ inner circle…
why did you remove my coment?
Pardon for cutting and pasting this from another comment from yesterday, but, it was offtopic then and it more on topic now. Plus, I don’t know if anyone saw it.
“Does anyone recall the report from 2000 issued by a blue panel commission headed by Al Gore?
By all rights, the report itself should be on the WH website. Haven’t checked but it should be archived there or somewhere. Plus, if anyone finds it, archive it elsewhere for posterity.
The GOP party leaders (at that time) stopped any of that report’s security recommendations cold. They probably, cynically, looked at it as a stunt Gore was pulling in an election year.
If anyone is unfamiliar with the report, you might be shocked to find out what the topic is about and that the issues were being considered way back then.
Now, I have yet to see a single story on that since early 2000. Given the grief that’s happened since, you’d hope that some media outlet would bring it up. It wouldn’t suprise me in the least that any of these upcoming docudrama’s don’t touch it with a ten foot pole.”
Clinton’s administration, including Gore, tried to do a lot. The things include actions and proposed actions which occurred beyond 1996.
And, since the blue ribbon commission headed by Gore was looking into ways of improving airportsecurity to prevent hijacking, it seems to be an important, overlooked aspect of pre-emptive actions by Clinton. As noted above, the GOP leadership at the time stopped it cold.
Sigh. but again, I doubt any of these docudramas or the news media will look at it … unless… you know…someone finds the report and explains what happened after the report was issued.
bdu @ 19
Good luck. I posted a very nice question there hours ago, and don’t see anything up yet – actually nothing new there since they shut down on September 2.

If this is a “docudrama” and not a Documentary – were releases obtained by all the living figures to use their names in connection with the activities shown on screen?
I’m betting not – relying instead on the documentary cover.
Also – I’m just wondering, if somehow my name and position were not only wrongfully taken and used, but I was also the victim of incorrect statements made about me – even if I were a public figure, if those statements were pointed out a) before the general relase, b) as being untrue, and c) an employee and agent of the channel, with direct knowledge of the incidents, pointed out publically that the represenations about to be released for general broadcast were incorrect and untrue then d) do you get a better case of ACTUAL MALICE?

Fidel Cigar @ 27
Too true, dude.
It’s worth remembering that a few years back ABC tried pushing paranoia buttons on a weekly basis with a jiingoistic series about the Homeland Security Department called “Threat Matrix.” The results were so wooden and unentertaining that they yanked the program before all the episodes had aired. “Extreme Makeover” took over the slot and got better ratings. Obviously, the decision to push such programs has nothing to do with marketability.
Fidel Cigar, you funny.
personal trexxing is cool.
A comment to all using Spotlight.
If you select multiple targets to send a blog post to, please make sure that your comment make sense given the audience. For instance, a comment asking how/why ABC can broadcast such a factually challenge film makes little sense if the recipient list includes NBC or CBS affiliates. Asking NBC & CBS to question the accuracy make sense, but asking them not to show it doesn’t.
Thanks and back to Spotlighting. :-)
immanentize @ 36
I thought I’d figure it out by now… but what is T-rexxing? I know who T-rex is but don’t quite get the whole picture :)
Mary4 at 26.
That is THE best way to demonstrate actual malice — by serving notice pre-publication or by a publisher refusing to issue a correction once the falsehood is known. Of the two, the former is the better.

Didn’t Cheney have that done as well?
We now know why the there was the big push to highlight and then ridicule and marginalize the “Jersey Girls” by Ann what’s her bones.
See, it was outrageous for the Jersey Girls to use their proximity to the 9/11 tragedy to advocate for their causes.
It is the goodness of Tom Kean’s heart that prompted him to use the tragedy to make money as a consultant to this fraudulent hack-job effort to blame America for the 9/11 tragedy.

As posted in last thread’s comments, this crock-o-drama has a specific intent: to obscure public opinion at time when it is increasingly obvious that person(s) in this administration deliberately outed a person responsible for investigating WMD in Iraq, smearing their spouse who had corroborating evidence, for reasons of political expediency, while damaging the intelligence network for both Iraq and Iran while increasing the threat of terrorism at home.
This is NOT just a whitewash job by ABC.
This is NOT just a swiftboating of Clinton.
This is NOT just a preemptive strike on Hillary’s future aspirations (being a Clinton).
This is NOT just a Lifetime poor-little-victim flick scaled to broadcast from cable.
This is the ENTIRE ball of wax, the whole enchilada. This is the core of the neo-conservatives’ agenda exposed, redirecting our attention as a nation to football and infotainment while they cover up their footprints and hide their fingerprints all over the largest money-laundering scam the world has ever seen, masquerading as a U.S. government engaged in an illegal war, bucking to launch a second illegal war.
I can’t even express how very serious this is, have no more adjectives, adverbs, pejoratives. THIS IS NO LONGER PSEUDO-, KIND OF, ALMOST FASCISM.

Our own beautiful Jane recently lost her mom and much affection was given via this fabulous forum for our founding FDLer.
I would tend to believe that most of us ‘pups’ appreciate the intelligent and resourceful words of Josh Marshall. Most of you probably read that he is mourning the loss of his father. I send my sympaties and recommend that you read Joshua’s writing about his father. (I won’t harp on it but I recently lost my dad and just reading his words gave me a flush of feelings still felt deep down). Peace.

I think what cheney had implanted awhile back was more than a pacemaker. What I remember reading is that it was some kind of a super dooper jump starter (obviously I’m not in medicine). His heart is so bad that a pacemaker wouldn’t do the job. No wonder he has a medical team on hand.
So ABC is shitting on Richard Clarke. And fuck you, Harvey Keitel.
This is beyond belief.
Rayne @ 69
Somebody posted a link on a prior thread to a David Corn article pimping his new book. The article says tht Valerie Plame was the operations person for the Iraq task force at the CIA. A group that went from being tiny and understaffed and underfunded, swelling to over 50 people during the summer of 2001 BEFORE 9-11.
Her grouped was tasked to find proof that Iraq had weapons of mass distruction, and were unable to find such proof.
She was puished for not making up the lies that Bushco wanted to hear. She was punished for not fixing the intelligence around the policy.
It’s all of a single cloth.
When they said they “make their own reality” they meant it. This is big lie propaganda in it’s purest form.
No wonder they hate the Wilsons. Poor, niave Joe and Valerie thinking that you are supposed to tell the truth. No wonder they are trying to destroy Pat Fitzgerald. Poor niave Pat, thinking the what the law says is supposed to happen should actually happen; that the de jureshould match up with the de facto.
All these poor naive bloggers, spreading acurate information and actuallu citing their sources. Tsk tsk tsk.
No wonder they hate us, we are obstructing their Big Lie
The thing is, if someone really were even handed, there were mistakes made by the Clinton administration. Not, IMO, on the level, especially the post-Cole level, of the Bush administration and Tenet bears a certain chunk of the responsiblity on both watches, but there were mistakes. No question. I know the O’Neill wing and the Scheuer wing and those in between have very different takes on things, but those different takes could have been discussed with give and take (and maybe a few bits of venom)and we could start moving towards something constructive.
A big part of the thing that galls me is that everytime something like this comes up – it is more about politics and disinformation and politicizing – and less about digging in and airing the laundry and getting something wearable off the line.
lhp at 83 — (as always) TRUTH!
lhp – you did highlight what is probably the most important, least emphasized, part.
The Iraq ramp up came BEFORE 9/11.

Now to quote Stupie.
“See in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.
Thanks for jogging my memory.
I just received a call from Hillary Clinton asking for my support in her re-election bid. Tried to engage her in conversation but she just kept rambling on about how she needed my support to carry on her good fight against George Bush. I tried to interrupt to thank her for supporting Ned Lamont, but no luck, she just kept talking as if she didn’t hear me.
At the end of her talk (can’t call it a conversation) she asked my to press 1 if I wanted to support her or press 2 if I did not.
I pressed 2 and she thanked me. I said “You’re welcome,” but I don’t think she heard me.

I don’t think any thinking person believes that the Clinton administration handled everything perfectly or even particulaly well.
Among other things, if Big Dawg hadn’t squandered so much political capital getting BJs from an intern, he might have been able to get his anti terroism legislation passed.
If he hadn’t been so worried about being accused of Wag the Dog, he might have bombed the stuffing out of the training camps when he had the chance–and frankly, he should ahve done the right thing, bombed them no matter what heat he had to take and for once taken unjustified criticism when he knew he was doing the right thing, instead of merely bearing up under legitmate criticism levled at his shabby personal behavior.

Time-Warner has decided there is not be a debate between New York Senator Clinton and her opponent, a real Democrat, Jonathan Tasini. Time-Warner has disingenuously said that Tasini has not raised enough money to be considered relevant for a debate with Clinton. This is what passes for democracy? The actual reason for there being no debate is that Tasini is pro-labor and anti-Iraq war. Clinton is not. Senator Clinton does not want to be embarrassed during a debate with Tasini. It’s outrageous.

Just got back from talking a social studies teacher into monitoring the rest of the district’s use of the Scholastic “Path to 9/11″ packet (It turns out that even though the district isn’t pushing the packet, Scholastic is, through e-mails to History and Social Studies teachers on their mailing lists – they send a pdf of the packet, and then the individual teacher downloads and copies the fair-use packet). She views this as a blatant attempt to influence a Federal election process.
Anyway, this was in my e-mail in-box when I got home:
Thank you for your inquiry. The ABC film “The Path to 9/11″ is a production of ABC entertainment not ABC news thus it is a dramatization of the events preceding 9/11 and not a documentary or news report. The network did provide affiliates with a prescreening of the film. Our Alaska stations will broadcast the film as scheduled by ABC with the ABC disclaimer. The following is the statement and disclaimer ABC has released with regard to the upcoming 2-part movie.

Statement from ABC
The Path to 9/11 is a dramatization, not a documentary, drawn from a variety of sources, including the 9/11 commission report, other published materials and from personal interviews. The events that lead to 9/11 originally sparked great debate, so it’s not surprising that a movie surrounding those events has revived the debate. The attacks were a pivotal moment in our history that should never be forgotten and it’s fitting that the discussion continues.

It could be on the up and up, but I don’t think the Liebernauts are reading their results right. I’m sure lots of people here have warm feelings about Lieberman–constant outrage gets me a little sweaty too.
OK, Bush’s plan to take out those evil, evil terrorists. From today’s speech:
And even where they don’t exist as in Iraq before our invasion.
So that’s you, Iran. Pakistan, not so much and India, heck, we’ll sell you the stuff. That’s called consistency for you folks out there who don’t know any better
“Afghanistan and Iraq have been transformed from terrorist states into allies in the war on terror.” Who knew?
What classic karmic timing with Pakistan’s announcement today that they will effectively create a sanctuary for al Qaeda and the Taleban in the tribal areas of Waziristan. So when do we start the bombing? Oh wait, they have nuclear weapons. Strike that, and Iran? You didn’t hear that.
Read your daily media for all that “hope” going down in Iraq.
With ideas like these, the only thing left to say is: Had enough?
Strange – multiple reports of Joe’s new site being up but it still looks like the old ‘we’ll be relaunching soon’ page to me. The link in post 118 ain’t working for me.
I think the evildoers have hacked my computer.
Regarding the new HoJo website – the best response to their jabs is to stay away from his comment section and simply redouble your efforts on behalf of Lamont – volunteer, give, or both.
I’m off to to give Lamont another $100. Please give what you can. Thanks.
Hugh @ 122
Just like every other time Bush has set forth “the plan.” Lots of determination on that teleprompter screen and not much else.
those sweethearts at joe2006 are already promising “The Full Lamonty” — witty fuckers, aren’t they?
Sam Seder just said “This is from FiredogLake… “introducing a segment.

As for Joe…Let his new friends say fake bad things about him on his shiny chicanery of a blog, so that he might recieve some nebulous benefit in his own mind, purse his quivering moralist’s lips and prepare a bromidic castigation (by the power of Numbskull!) meant for the betterment of us poor benighted sinners what think him lower than whaleshit.
OT:
I, like Punaise, will be away for a short time…Keep the funeral pyre for Neoconservative ideals warm until I get back.

I looked, but did not write, at the comments section.
All polite, but all negative. you’d think he would have ahd a few volunteers who wanted to drop by and leave a nice hello.
The absence of such, leads me to believe this all a frame up. I am so suspicious and cynical. Sigh
Wrote 500 words in the “add your comments” over at Spotlight. Hit the preview button, and decided a K-Lo comma needed to be excised. Per instruction, I hit the back button. POOF! Everything gone. WAAAAAHHH!
One sticky fingered hand written letter is worth more than a hundred E-mails, invest a little time and a $.39 cent stamp will get you much more satisfaction……………….
Snow job…they are going after Social Security again…unless of course the Dems win as even Tucker thinks is conventional wisdom now.
Better keep our eye on the ballot box and the exit polls.
PBS has The Cook Report and the Rothenberg Review on. Both are favoring a Dem takeover of teh House
nice to see Joe sprung for a Pro Flickr.com account to host his photos
windje @ 92
Kharzai is about to hang it up too – everyone around him getting picked off. Of course, if the give it another Friedman, it may all get better.
Was it GSD that posted the link to Israel setting up a war crimes defense team for its officials? Don’t they know – all they have to do is get and OLC opinion.
And now there’s that nasty possiblity that Iraq may adopt US theory on law – like that proposed by Goldsmith and Posner, i.e., a country doesn’t have to follow international rules if it doesn’t wanna – that “immunity” thing – eh, maybe they don’t wanna.
Worse still, we have some really serious ramifications with the case of the soldiers who have been referred for death penalty (not even the Haditha or rape/murder cases). The whole military – and that means us as the people who rely on the military – are in a horrible no win situation there.
Rock, hardplace, and GWB saying stay the course.

Hmmm…. Makes me think that I need to add an “edit” link so the back button is not used.
Darkblack, you’ll love joe’s flickr photos. I looked at a few and some are as large as 2560 x 1920 pixels. Plenty of resolution to work with.

“The fools, the fools, the fools, they have left us our Fenian dead!”
Bush and the neo’s have fallen into virtually every trap imaginable in the Middle East.
The White House funneled millions of dollars through major Republican Party contributors to Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s primary campaign in a failed effort to ensure the support of the former Democrat for the Bush administration.
This was just released by the arch-convservative INSIGHT magazine.
PS. Joe took the money.

“Blog for Joe
One of the easiest ways for our supporters to help get our message out for Round Two of the campaign, and counteract the destructive distortions of our opponents, is to join Joe’s Online Truth Squad.
If you have the time, we would encourage you to blog on our behalf and get the facts out about Joe’s record and views. You might already have a blog, but if you don’t setting one up is a lot easier than you think. just fill out the form below and we’ll get you started. Or you can head to http://www.blogger.com
Otherwise, you can do us a big favor just by monitoring the big political blogs that have been spreading lies and myths about Joe, and when you see something you know is wrong, post a comment to set the record straight.”

A clear review of President Clinton’s anti-terrorism initiatives is given in “Clinton, 9/11 and the Facts” by William Rivers Pitt, at Truthout.
The ABC blog on 9-11 is back up!
Please write them and tell them what you think!

Did anyone tell George this?
Pakistan has thrown in the headdress on its fight with both Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
An official state agreement was signed today giving safe haven to Osama “if he lives a peaceful life” (undefined).
And — oh, joy — weapons are to be returned to the Taliban.
All here on — of all freaking places — ABC’s The Blotter. (Maybe this is the road to the NEXT 9/11.)

OT. Watched some of the Couric debut and thought it was morning. A variety show in news clothing–the Cruise baby, the Australian’s death, Limbaugh on Thursday. Moonves vs Moon? Things are never so bad they don’t get worse.
A reminder to all using the Spotlight lihnk. Please be nice, professional and polite. Do not use name calling. Instead, support your case with facts.
Name calling is a turn off and will prevent people from hearing our message.
Thanks

Ironic that on the same day Bush promises total victory against Islamofascism we get a report that they are giving OBL a pass.
Bush/Cheney, Bringers of Death and Deceit.
Canada’s Pat Tillman incident.
Reports that US “friendly fire” killed former Canadian Olympian Mark Graham.
“Graham, who grew up in Hamilton, joined the military after his track career and was based at CFB Petawawa. A private, Graham was killed and more than 30 others wounded Monday in Afghanistan as two U.S. aircraft accidentally opened fire on Canadians during a strafing run. He was 33.”

Cuttin and running – sometimes is the smart thing to do. The link below is to an article by a retired general – one of the better essays I’ve seen on the stay vs leave decision.

Every time I hear “stay the course, stay the course” . . . it sounds like one of those radio commercials where a parrot continuously screams out phrases.
The problem is that we’re lost, there is no captain, first mate, navigator or helmsman, the compass is broken and the ship is in danger of losing its rudder, the constitution.
Time for a new crew.

I didn’t do it. It was *ilson.
Unfortunately, my local ABC affiliate does not seem to be on the list? Can you add it? I tried several times, in case I had done something wrong at first.

My comment was intended to be ironic. I am not suggesting that any Lamont supporters actually go and set up a fake blog, though Joe’s Web site, to use against Joe. I do not disagree with the comments that have been made advising that we leave Joe’s blog alone. That would not, of course, preclude people from setting up or using their own blogs, with their own resources, to advocate whatever they please.
Mark Steckel @ 136
Mark, that would be wonderful. I had the same experience, but forgot to mention it to you.

The post in 118 I was referring to showed a clickable link which didn’t have the www in the URL, and led nowhere. You’d think their internet consultant would made sure that the non www tube was covered.
Maybe that *ilson guy can grab that domain fast.

I’m not aware that he has. The links at Taylor’s site are from something called Blue Jersey, which I had not heard of before. I suspect the story’s being shopped around by some Democratic operatives.
GSD – THIRTY wounded as well? Wow – downplayed is an understatement.
OJSuit – We are finally ramping up on Taliban in Afghanistan and lo&behold, Pakistan opens up the Northcountry even more for them to move back and forth.
windje – Odom is one of the ones that has been making sense for so long.
Sorry kids, no Mickey or Donald in this house anymore. And forget about that trip to Orlando

spotlight is so tremendously sensible and i hope will be prove to be equally effective.
i wrote an email to mark asking that he consider doing something similar for members of the legislature and he replied in a thoughful and expedient manner.
overjoyed to have this little ‘weapon’ in the quivver….;)
I know we have a new thread up, but for the record I want to post this, re OBL. It’s a long post, but I guess that’s ok for a dead thread. (Emphasis mine)
From a press conference, March 13, 2002. Bush has never showed any real determination to go after OBL. Why? At a time when the wingnuts are trying to pin the blame of Clinton, this should be aired widely.

The producer’s comments from the official “The Path To 9/11″ blog:
D. Cunningham, Director of The Path to 9/11
August 29, 2006
Richard Clarke on a scene from the first episode:
2. Contrary to the movie, the head of the Northern Alliance, Masood, was no where near the alleged bin Laden camp and did not see UBL.
3. Contrary to the movie, the CIA Director actually said that he could not recommend a strike on the camp because the information was single sourced and we would have no way to know if bin Laden was in the target area by the time a cruise missile hit it.
Question for the class: How can this be the “unvarnished truth” if an entire scene is made up and does not even represent the real attitudes of the participants?
If the remainder of this movie is as fictional as the first episode, why would I take comfort in their being “anti Bush”?
We need to mobilize attacks against Disney not just ABC. I’m a teacher. I think you can target teachers to be pretty upset about being targets of right propaganda. Publish contact info at Disney as well. Send to teachers and librarians. We are so frustrated

Not to worry! Stents are a good thing. They are low risk to insert, and make it a lot easier for blood to flow.

Tell your friends to boycott the ABC affilitates.
Dad,
Don’t take your kids to Disneyland. and let disney know why.
If I recall correctly (and I do) when ABC broadcast a controversial film about nuclear war, THE DAY AFTER, in 1984 they had a panel discussion afterwards with Carl Sagan, William F Buckley, George Shultz (then Secretary of State), and Elie Wiesel (who would win the Nobel Peace Prize two years later). (Oddly, the Wikipedia article neglects to mention the last two, but I have the broadcast on tape.)
Why not ask them to do the decent thing, admit the controversy, and have another panel discussion?
