Hey, DoDeath, here’s the difference between you and me. While you asked whether we were gonna do anything about the ABC 9/11 tripe, I found out where to go to find any local affiliate and tell ‘em what you think.

Can we get more organized on this? Yes. Can we do it by calling each other names? No.

It’s called research and taking action. I recommend it!

Another difference is that I know what namecalling is and you apparantly do not. A careful reading will show that I did NOT engage in name calling, I did however register my disgust at our team’s inability to do what the right does regularly…mobilize and scare the shit out of any network that attempts to propagandize against them. As far as calling the local affiliate, this will accomplish little if anything. ABC doesn’t care about your opinion(unless your a wingnut apparantly), they only care about the bottom line. So you researched and found the phone number of the local ABC affiliate? I’m guessing that took all of 5 minutes. We need to find who their BIG accounts are and go after them. And yes, I’m researching that very thing now.

Be interested to hear if there’s any news on that front….

Thanks for asking. Each year we try to do half paying gigs and half benefits. The paying ones are so we can be self-supporting and still afford to give the other half away to various charities and stuff. Acting locally and all that.

A right of return to NOLA shouldn’t turn on chops. Make that the criterion and you play into the “rhythm” stereotype. I love NOLA jazz, but c’mon! There’s a broader right here! Gotta see ethnic cleansing for what it is! NOLA is occupied territory.

If I were a horn in Bush’s burgeoning Disneyesque NOLA, I’d lay my brass down ‘cept to play dirges for the evacuees in Texas and Kentucky and for the returnees sitting in those off-limits FEMA trailers caught between State Farm and HUD.

The White Folks have no boogey. That’s a fount of power. The message: Boogey’ll cost ya. Price: Give us our city back, with or without the chops!

I think that qualifies as an understatement, old coastie. Shit. All the irregularities in that one – the voting machine sleep-overs, Hastert swearing him in before the dust had settled. San Diego is a cesspool of rethug politics. Pete Wilson came from there. AS bad as he was, other local pols make him smell like a rose. And it was, after all, Cunningham’s seat.

IIRC, three out of the last four mayors elected didn’t serve a minute of their terms due to scandals that popped before they even took office. The scandals were common knowledge before the elections among city insiders, who would have been content to play it as it lay if the press hadn’t found out and made it public. Just like in DC. Well, except for the part about the press.

It’s not just Broder. The entire conventional news establishment is fight’n like hell to just ignore – in the hope that they’ll go away – the newer, up-to-the minute- news establishment, which is found within the blogs.

Around here, we have news within the hour, at the very least, and opinions within milli-seconds afterward.

This is revolutionary, and as with all revolutions, someone must leave as the new someone comes to the fore. I submit that there is not a single soul, presently existent w/in OldMedia, who could survive in the blogs, for the blogs require instantaneous, intelligent response, and none of the ‘old dogs’., e.g. Broder, Will, Friedman, could keep up.

Information is coming at lightning speed, and if it takes three days to form an opinion, you’re dust – but they’ll fight against that.
