For liberty. For our nation of laws and not men. For all of the men and women who gave their lives through the years for freedom, for justice, for America. As a nation, we have not always lived up to these ideals, but that does not mean that we should stop working toward them — it should only redouble our resolve to ensure that those persons we elect to uphold these principles believe in them all the stronger.

Hi, y’all!

fran is a guy (an active or possibly retired priest, as I recall). Classically Irish in temperament, in my observation. He showed up a few weeks ago, and some of us had WOIDS WID ‘IM at the time, since he was then a total “Liebertroll” . . .

But then, would you believe, he hung around with us anyhow, and ended up solidly a Ned man! His brother has been quite ill lately too, so that may be part of his edginess.

Anyhow, I’ve become rather fond of him (us orneries kinda stick together an’ all).

I didn’t see how this all started today, but I can attest that fran’s style is to lead wid a big ol’ brogan, then hang around to long enough to pick up the rhythm and dance nicely witcha.

In my experience, that is; your mileage may vary . . .

Hey, I only take umbrage when someone makes a false accusation against the nice folks here. I stayed out of the first go-round when it happened. :)

Just so you know, I was not one of the people who suggested that *fran* start her own blog. That’s not something I tell anyone to do. As a matter of fact, I have never responded to anything *fran* says.

When *fran* came here a few days ago she jumped in and started cursing because we were not discussing the war dead in Iraq in that moment, implying that we do not care about the human toll. That in itself was a horrendous insult. Add to that the way she phrased her comment and it was a very rude package indeed.

No one faults anyone for a different opinion on topic, or even off topic, if they have a point to make. *fran’s* only point was that she didn’t like our discussion. Period.

I guess you had to be there. Anyway, take care…

And thanks, kurt and op99, at least I know I’m not entirely alone in my impression of the situation.
