Terry – I think my most interesting (in terms of after-high-school ambitions) classmate showed up to the 10 year reunion with three last names and husband number four.

Two people in my graduating class are now different genders. The man who became a woman wasn’t a surprise. He was coming as close as he could back then to cross dressing without getting beaten up. The woman who became a man was a complete surprise, even though I’d had lunch with her pretty much every day through high school. They were both really nice kids and I hope they’ve found happiness.

I was also surprised that one woman had become a nun. In high school, she’d have been the LAST person you’d have picked to have pursued a religious vocation. Such is life.
