cleter: Thinking of you! I hope we don’t lose power too early. I only have about 1/2 hour on my laptop battery. On the radio, Jeb said “Folks have been seen jamming the gas stations. Don’t worry, there is plenty of gas available”. Of course, every station is now sold out…I don’t think it will be too bad anymore. Work is closed tomorrow and it is just now starting to get some of the squails! Good luck!

orangejumpsuit @ 150

There is a lot more here than just who walks in the parade with whom. It’s about Joe betraying the wishes of CT Dems.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....28250.html

And what wasn’t in the piece but was in the article was a statement by a member of the DTC saying he was surprised by Lieberman’s apparent interest in the parade since he hadn’t participated in it (although invited yearly) for over 10 years.

CT residents are sick of Lieberman for Lieberman

Kewalo @ 147
I’ve got that site bookmarked, thanks so much.
I wish I’d found out about it earlier; it would have been really helpful in dealing with some rightwingers who simply said things like “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

They are just full of crap! The RWers will do and say anything to cover for their hero. But theres lots of info that he ruined FEMA.

For some reason my posts are being eaten today. Here is a good article on Pres Clinton and how a good president reacts to a disaster.

http://www.democrats.com/node/5958

I’m really delighted that someone can use my research.

TeddySanFran @ 13

I don’t wanna be morbid, but do y’all remember one year after the tsunami, when the death toll went way up because all those souls who’d been missing were declared dead? Aren’t the “missing” souls from Katrina due for inclusion in the death toll, like, today? And why isn’t TradMed talking about this?

We will never know the true number of dead in N.O. because BushCo quickly moved Kenyon,a wholly-owned subsidiary of Service Corporation International (SCI) to head the body recovery process.

“Based in Houston and publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange, SCI owns 1,500 funeral homes throughout North America, and has been a close political supporter of George W. Bush since his days as governor of Texas.

SCI has been implicated in multiple scandals—involving unlicensed embalmers, the digging up and dumping of bodies to clear space for new graves and more profits and the stuffing of bodies sent for cremation into sheds.

When the company came under investigation in Texas during Bush’s term as governor, an SCI employee threatened the lives of state regulators. Nonetheless, Bush defended its CEO, Robert Waltrip, helping to scuttle the probe.”

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2.....-s16.shtml

I am sure BushCo’s concern is that more people died in the Katrina disaster than in 9/11 - due in large part to the Bush administration’s incompetence.

Thanks Kewalo. I’m bookmarking that link, which is http://www.itsdocs.fhwa.dot.go.....13775.html to use for ammo re the upcoming ABC special which is supposed to pin the blame for 9/11 on the Clinton admin. Can’t find that post, it was a couple of threads back.

That would just be wonderful. Last year when I did all the research I wondered if it would ever be useful, but just couldn’t stop myself. It was almost as if I was somehow helping out.

You might be interested in this too, it shows how Clinton reacted to Hurrican Floyd in ‘99.

See you guys later. I’m leaving work now to go get my crackers and get all my orchids out of the trees and pick up my FEMA ice!

Looks like it is just a tropical storm but I’m west of Okeechobee. L8tR

Good luck! I’m off to teach a class and then I guess I should go buy some crackers and tuna for the almost inevitable power outages.
