The establishment is pushing terror - because they are terrified the people might actually re-take control of their government.

What a concept.

About vetsforfreedom…

From their website:

What is Vets for Freedom Action Fund’s mission and desired end state?
The mission of the Vets for Freedom Action Fund is to ensure that our troops and veterans are represented in Washington by people of character who understand the stakes of our long war against Islamofascism. Steadfastness in this fight is critical to our long-term nation security, and it is the aim of our organization to stand by those in Washington who stand by our shared values as we fight our nation’s Global War on Terror.

There is a full page political advert in this morning’s Hartford Courant thanking Joe Lieberman for his support of Iraq War Veterans:
” Iraq and Afghanistan are complicated wars. But you have not let politics influence your position. We are grateful for your integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to America’s troops. We are veterans of these wars, and we salute you.”
The veterans have a website:
ww.vetsforfreedom.org and are asking for donations to the cause.
Who are these guys really? I’ve never heard of them before now. And why is their committment to continuing the wars in the Middle East? Most of the returning vets I’ve seen comment on Iraq are not pleased with the Administration’s position and on the revolving door into/out/back into position they find themselves in doing multiple tours in Iraq.

The gauntlet has been thrown down. They’ll back Joe and fund him and Rove will do his dirty tricks bit. They will stay behind the scenes as much as possible and force the Democrats to burn up a lot of money and energy helping Lamont. If Joe wins, they’re golden. If he doesn’t, they still might help some of their house members stay in place. Nasty and calculating, just like always. But for them, what’s not to like?

Gosh, if Dems (not Ned) resorted to Republican’t-style push polling, they’d do one that asked “If you thought Joe Liebeman would switch parties to become a Republican if he wins his senate seat back, would you vote for him?”

Or is there another way to communicate to CT’s blue voters that there is no guarantee that Joe won’t switch?

Adie, a while back you offered some very valuable posting tips for newbies. And here you’ve also shown in your “graceful-handedness” (so right, Lotus) how to disagree without putting someone on the defensive. I haven’t yet read the thread to which you’re referring, but I do strongly agree, no need to become like the Cheneys of this world!

Thanks to Egregious’ fabulous transcribing of Ned’s TV appearance yesterday, it’s clear to me that Ned can knock anyone’s socks off by just being his honorable self.
