Second, as someone with family members and friends with Down’s Syndrome and other disabilities, I get really uncomfortable when this word is thrown around.

Accountability is so hot, isn’t it? Had enough?

The problem is there hasn’t been any accountability, not yet anyway. Scooter and smokin-joe aside, these scumbags are still firmly in power. The only real accountablity, perhaps, starts this november and and in 08.

I just hope the negative ‘joe-mentum’ is enough to scare the herd over at the DLC to change direction. It will be hard though, as the majority of mainstream Democratic Party luminaries will have to admit to being duped.. Given the ego’s involved, that will be a tough pill to swallow..

Personally, I won’t be satisfied until much of what has been done is undone and certain individuals are incarcerated..

I’m not holding my breath.

This fall things are going to get nasty.

I believe that I saw on DailyKos that the number of Iraqis killed in two months outnumbers those on 9/11. Two months. The Protestant and Catholic blessing of ‘the peace that passes all understanding’ is not meant to be for this earth, but for our own spiritual understanding. This continuing policy of war and ignorance and incompetence and lies and corruption…breath…is not supported by any spiritual beliefs that I know of. It is detrimental to our individual spirit, to our collective understanding of goodness and what the New Testatment professes, to our belief in our country, its Constitution, Bill of Rights and its dignity. If we are, indeed, a Christian nation (I know, I know) then the tolerance and love that we have been taught should propel us forward: this going backward to our regettable intolerance, ignorance, and closemindedness is not acceptable. It is not acceptable, ever. Anymore in this day and age.

Mehlman was truly pathetic on Meet the Press. He didn’t really answer a single question that would put him on a limb. His examples of reacting were laughable. Btw, can we point out Feingold and McCain as the way bipartisanship is supposed to work, the guys obviously like and respect each other but definitely don’t bend over backwards for each others positions like the sore loser did.

Mr. Littledog and I watched the Mehlman segment because we read a comment that he had stumbled his way through it.

How I wish it were true. He spit out his talking points without so much as a breath. He turned every question to his delivering the points he came there to make.
