Interesting post and comments Jane. But the people of Connecticut have not spoken yet. Only the Democrats have. I’ll be curious if everyone calling for Leibermans head and yelling “The people have spoken” will give a hoot if the “people” have the Senate seat back to Joe in November.

Lieberman along with Hillary Clinton are 2 of the 12 most powerful people blocking and independent investigation of 9/11.

Thanks for the info; who are the other 10?

Lieberman’s idea of Bi-Partisan is very simple:

They are partisans and he buys them anything they want.

Kurt (264), I’m not selling anything but perhaps you have decided I am and you will not be disabused of that. I will say if I had to hold my nose to vote for someone, I would not vote. Maybe that’s how we got Bush.

EPU at 225:

***I keep wanting to write a post about some sociologist’s theory (I think it was Weber, but I’m not sure) concerning the natural movement of political systems accross a fixed spectrum like a metronome, always coming back to the center b/c of overreaching by the party in power. But, it would be a long post, and I am, admittedly, lazy. But if I can figure out whose theory it actually is (this is going back 20 odd years to college, so I deserve some credit for remembering the theory exists), I might feel less lazy.

You are probably thinking of one of these:
Spegler
Toynbee
Pareto
Sorokin
Each of them proposed cyclic forms of social change.
Hope that helps.

I tend to side with those who think MulliganJoe’s gonna pack up his clubs & head off into the sunset before too too long.

He’s making an utter fool of himself wallowing in his personal little pityparty bubble. I see him self-destructing before my eyes, melting. Pitiful creature.

Goodgawdjoe. Take your little box of tissues, your pearls, and Just.Go.Away. NOW. It’s only getting worse. There’s no other way out.
Can’t Hedassah help him off the stage? Or is she in the same bubble. Egad! Textbook case of severe political-withdrawal-syndrome.

Eric 261

Is it gay-ness you’re referring to? (seriously, I don’t know; just heard occasional rumors)

If so, can’t we please all agree to leave that kind of issue alone?! Wallowing in charges & name-calling of that sort will only incite unwanted blow-back twd FDL and liberals in general.

I thot we progressives were an inclusive bunch, NOT exclusive; respect, tolerance, compassion and all that good stuff. Either you are or you’re not. You can’t have it both ways.
