I’m a lurker who’s been spending time each day for several months now, checking your site because it’s soooo informative, right on, and even gives a real sense of community. Most of all, it gives me hope that change is possible, albeit with a LOT of hard work, every day, for a long time to come. Thank you to each of the participants here- educators, really, and friends. You are the ones bringing that change about, as is evident in last night’s win for Ed Lamont.

My heartiest congratulations to you all, along with sincerest thanks, and major Congratulations on Lamont’s win last night!

Could respond to many of the comments on this thread, but will limit myself to a hearty “Hear! Hear!” to Ladybug’s suggestion at #45. Much dialogue could come from that. Let it flow.

why all the concern (quoting the times article) among the senate leadership about not causing lieberman to feel his back is up against the wall? why all the deference at this point? would we treat a cancerous tumor this way after the operation to successfully remove it? there is no wall behind lieberman, only an open doorway, or a window (hopefully on the first floor) and they can just push him through it. and toss his hat into the street after him.

The handwriting is on the wall for 2006:

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sixty percent of Americans oppose the U.S. war in Iraq, the highest number since polling on the subject began with the commencement of the war in March 2003, according to poll results and trends released Wednesday.

And a majority of poll respondents said they would support the withdrawal of at least some U.S. troops by the end of the year, according to results from the Opinion Research Corporation poll conducted last week on behalf of CNN. The corporation polled 1,047 adult Americans by telephone.

According to trends, the number of poll respondents who said they did not support the Iraq war has steadily risen as the war stretched into a second and then a third year. In the most recent poll, 36 percent said they were in favor of the war — half of the peak of 72 percent who said they were in favor of the war as it began.

Sounds as if someone is a LITTLE cranky this morning…..

My advice to you, take some Bromo and then hit yourself in the head with a large inflatable clown hammer repeatedly, repeating to yourself “It’s only a movie, it’s only a movie….”

Phew…stayed up WAY too late combing through all the CT race feedback. How absolutely breathtaking all of it is!

Best video: CTBob’s minute of pure joy — I tear up every time I’ve watched it.

Best commentary: Spazeboy’s wrap-up (sorry, not going to link here so I can get through faster)

Thank you all, Jane, Christy, Pach, TRex, all the FirePups for supporting this in so many ways.

Thank you Nutmeggers for having the courage and tenacity to b*tchslap entitlement and entrenchment into next week, and for giving our democracy the kick in the *ss it has needed.

Thank you to all the other people-powered races that didn’t quite make it, but blazed the trail.

And thank you, Howard Dean, for reminding us so very often: You have the power to take your country back.
