Good lord, do we bloggers have to do everything? Sheesh.

Apparently, yes. And, thanks!

I wish Ned could find a way to say something like, “one of the great things about the internet is that this kind of problem is easily traceable. I’m sure you’ll be able to get to the bottom of this and report the facts soon.”

The claim is total bullshit. They’re paying $15 a month for hosting on that site. It will be easy as hell to determine it was a case of server overload and the fact that Joe wasn’t paying for adequate bandwidth.

Now it’s possible a bunch of geeks got together and used up his bandwidth, but that’s what you get for not having enough in the first place. In any event, Lamont did a good CYA by offering his IT guys, who no doubt make Joe’s look like luddites.

He’s really learned well from Karl Rove. I wish Joe would just go ahead and become a repug. He certainly doesn’t fit any definition of a Democrat I ever heard.

Gawd, that’s so fucking obvious. Journalism 101.
Joe accuses Ned of misdeeds.
Reporter calls Ned, asks for a response before writing a story.
If the explanation shows Joe to be full of s**t, the reporter confirms it and calls Joementum’s people and says WTF are you feeding me?
Then you either spike the story or you recast it to show how a longtime senator’s staff on election day is making baseless allegations against an upstart who’s kicking his a**. There are a couple more steps in there, but that’s the basic action plan.

baghdad joe @
14

This is a big Joementum hail mary.

And it may work. Just on CNN, Joe asked Lamont to “call off his cyberallies”, and announced he was filing a complaint with the state Democratic party chairman.

This, unfortunately, may actually work.

It may work short term….but if I were Ned Lamont, I would subpoena Lieberman’s ISP records for his site. That evidence will put an end to speculation and be proof positive that the Lamont campaign had nothing to do with the “total breakdown of the Lieberman campaign”…their words, not mine. What a bunch of wusses.

J. P. Spencer @ 183

The lesson learned by Joe Lieberman? Don’t attack violent video games publicly. You have no idea of the technical expertise of the kids who play them.

LOL. I have to somewhat agree, especially considering the Democratic party skews young. The first I had ever heard of Holy Joe was during his video game crusade in the mid 90’s and if he had been my senator he would’ve lost my vote permanently. Hillary has attempted the same video-games-are-evil meme recently… I had to wonder aren’t there more important issues out there she should focus on? To establishment Democrats I would advise, leave the techno fearmongering to the wingers. Stick to real issues like getting our government working again.

tweety talking to bowtie on msnbc…. ya’ know? I think today, tweety is our friend… tweety can’t understand how someone can support the war wholeheartedly and then say he questions how the war was executed…

Karl Rove did it in Texas back in the eighties. He bugged his own office and blamed it on the Democratic candidate, Mark White.

This is pure Rove. In his first Texas election, his candidate was losing badly. He apparently went and bought a listening device from his local Radio Shack, called in the press and “exposed” the fact that his opponent was spying on him. The tables turned and his candidate won because of the purely manufactured “scandal.”

BOTTOM LINE: The existence of this “update” page proves that the Lieberman campaign has access to their server, and they could put up anything they want.

This is pure Rovian dirty tricks and the mainstream media should make a point of this. Our IMC in Florida was hacked the same way by a right-winger in Texas, no less. It’s true that one person can do an SQL server attack from anywhere. What happens is that the site would have had to be down until a skilled person changed the site to a completely different server which leads me to believe this was expertly planned in advance.
