I’ll be, and should be, epu’d, but I found this a good summation of how Joe Lieberman got himself into this sit:

A very sincere thank you to all of you who have helped on the ground. All I did was send money.

This is a BIG race to those of us who think nationally. I want incumbents out. They have failed us.

And Joe is failure #1.

Is anyone going to live-blog this tomorrow night? I have a sneaking suspicion the MSM won’t give it the attention I am going to crave.

Exit polls, up-to-date real numbers, analysis, GOTV thoughts…inquiring minds will want to know. Plus I’ll want to know if The Man is creeping in to steal the damn election.

God bless you all for fighting the good fight in any way you can. I’m cautiously optimistic, and also believe that win or lose, this is a win even if it is close.

Time to get some actual wins, however.

#340’s got it right. With polling so close, the fix is in for a 50.1% Leiberman ‘win’.

I don’t know if CT uses Diebold or ES&S electronic voting machines, but if it uses either, this will not be a fair election.

Remember: for as long as exit polls have been used, they’ve been so accurate that they’re the gold standard by which the US & UN measures corruption in international elections.

Yet in 2000 & 2004 when for the first time in history the exit polls started to wildly differ from the official results, the mass media assumed that the exit polls were wrong. They never seriously questioned the new electronic, networked machines that counted the votes. Instead, they abandoned exit poll reporting. It was too ‘inconvenient’.

If those machines will be used tomorrow, then the vote will be manipulated electronically. Leiberman’s too useful to this administration, and they won’t allow Ned to take his place.

Sorry.

KathieinMN,

Sometimes it’s hard to keep up here at FDL. There’s so much going on. Anyway, it’s always good to see new progressives here.

Bless you Gold Star Mother!

timewarp @ 91

NPR reported that there is a record number of new registrations. Made it sound like they were still coming in. Is it possible that CT allows registration right up to the last minute>

iirc, unaffiliated CT voters could change to Dem up until Noon today. The deadline for changing from R to D passed long ago. Don’t have a link, but (again iirc) half of the 20,000 new Dems are newly registered voters and half are changes from unaffiliated.

Hard to read what that means, except TURNOUT rulez!

I have been bothered by these reports of new registration and haven’t seen any analysis of what this might mean for the vote on Tuesday.

Seems to me that this could turn out to be a wild card that tilts the voting one way or the other, but which way?

The latest poll indicates a significant reduction in Lamont’s margin compared with the last Q-poll. This suggests a shift in momentum in the last few days. Could it be that these new registrations are trending towards support for RGJoe? I hope not.

> But most telling about the Lieberman campaign among the negroes…

What’s up with all the racial issues here? First blackface, now “negroes”…

Ya’ll need to get out more.

The following remark is offered against my better judgement:

Note, however, that the word “negroes” was part of a quote from another writer. That writer generally referred to black people in his article, and the context of “negroes” suggests an ironic commentary on the gauchness of the Lieberman campaign’s outreach (as did, fwiw, the blackface cartoon, aka the dead issue).

Alan at 342 — FYI — that was a quote of GIlliard, who happens to be of the darker flesh tones, if you get my drift. Maybe you should pay more attention to the “blockquote” feature before posting smug snottiness. I’m just saying.

Also, take a peek at this. And then back off.
