lhp, Stephen Parrish CPA and any others I missed.

Sorry for the totally EPU’d comment. Had to dash off & rescue other projects around here. It’s wicked hot and . . . Didn’t mean to post & run, but duty called.

YES Stephen. That’s the EFF link I got. (among others of course - every org. is looking for $$ & for you to sic them onto other fresh contacts. what are we coming to?!)

lhp: good on ya! I just don’t do well calling, but I e-mail a lot. I find it helps to repeat & refine, & never give up; eventually something in most political offices triggers a response to [he/she who just won’t go away, and who makes sense, drat ‘em] - heh heh.

So I do think it takes all of us in our various ways, often refusing to take “duhno/wha?” for an answer, and keeping after them, politely but persistently pushing to the point that they finally get us on a list of folk who MUST receive an answer that makes sense; otherwise, we’ll be right back in their faces again, (& these days they surely worry where else we might go with reports of their non-answers).

I’m sure this strategy gains a lot of its strength from the hard work put in by those “on the ground” who conduct rallies, and make “kiss floats” & such. Many of us just don’t have the time, or maybe the energy (puff puff) to do the ground work but, by gum, I’d SWEAR efforts in various guises add up to more than the sum total of [those who move in lockstep according to talking points handed out by gurus like rover].

So, we trek on, separately & together. Must drive some folks out there nuts, (I hope).

I wish I could be optomistic, but the Democrats STILL don’t get it. I’m just not seeing an alternative that I could care about? Look at California, Angelides? What a joke! Until the SYSTEM IS FIXED, or people actually take steps to fix the system, all I can do is be apathetic. Nonetheless, I do plan on drinking into oblivion tonight.

Ditto, also sent DMTV an email. We are already doing GOTV efforts here, would offer us another outreach vehicle for volunteers to get engaged. The office is ready, the equipment set up, the phone and walk lists available on demand, precinct data ready and key precincts targeted…all we need are more warm bodies and DMTV would help fill that gap.

Hope they’re going to be able to keep up with the demand! ;-)

Hey all: George Stern here from Do More Than Vote. Thanks to everyone who’s emailed us so far. If I haven’t already replied to your email, you can expect a reply soon. We’re thrilled at the demand we’ve been receiving so far today and I’m confident we’ll be able to keep up. The interest is exciting! If we all Do More Than Vote, we can elect Democrats nationwide this November. If you haven’t already contacted us and you want to learn more or start a chapter in your city, shoot us an email: domorethanvote@gmail.com

op99 at 12:21

Thanks. I’ve been pestering so constantly, I didn’t send a repeat today, but I have gotten responses back from most committee members in the past week or so, s’more even today (including a duh-whut? don’worry, I gottit - from Frist - in snailmail!). Clinton & several others just sent me canned “got yer msg” mush, no details.

DeWine (OH - my state) especially, in a very tight tight race with Sherrod Brown, & trailing (yay!), is rather attentive to providing prompt answers. But I had to write 2-3X before he got down to specifics. I think we might have a chance to “turn” him, even tho he’s supposedly sponsoring. Oh, I also wrote Sherrod, telling him what I told DeWine to do. Wouldn’t be atall surprised if BOTH weren’t at our county fair THIS WEEK. Hm-m-m. Oh, you just KNOW I have to go. Wish me luck.

Even tho the EFF didn’t mention em, I also sent a sharp poke off to our member in the House. Just got back an almost incomprehensible e-mail from Ralph Regula’s ofc - no formatting at all, just a long string of single-sentence repug talking points strung together. I guess I should be thankful for the fact that staff at least left the periods tw’ the barely related sentences. Oh, & they inserted a sentence near the end assuring us Regula’s got things well in hand. Uh huh. yeah, sure. whatever. Hubby got exact same. (we both pester separately ;->)

looseheadprop @ 12:17 pm (#98) - If that’s the case, then I wonder what “subject to recall” means. I was told that general officers are always subject to recall. Apparently, it goes with the rank.

Of course, many rules about accountability in government seem to be changing …

Hope baby mittens pulls through.

Your “entitlement” link works for me now, I have no idea why it didn’t when I tried it several times earlier.
