Wouldn’t it be more consistent to encourage purchase 50 Simple Things to Do to Fight the Right from someone other than Amazon? As I recall, ShopBlue would indicate Barnes & Noble. Personally I do my online book ordering from Powell’s.

OT, but had to share.

Just spent a really interesting and fun afternoon with Hope springs a turtle!

What a neat, neat lady. She’s passionate about this stuff and has the brains and energy to back it up. Talk about somebody who “gets” it!

I’m breathless just from hearing all the amazing things she’s done in her young life, and the afternoon held stories, great food, laffs and some tears, too.

Dr. Turtle called from Germany while she was here. What good, good work he is doing.

Mr. Littledog and I enjoyed the afternoon so much and we look forward to a return visit.

Oh, and if your ears are burning . . . what can I say? :)

{ahem} please note that my very own Senator Byron Dorgan’s just released book, Take This Job and Ship It, is being advertised on this site.

And I have the opinion of the local ND legendary radio progressive, the Voice of Dakota, that it’s pure Byron and excellent.

Kudos to the Senator. One of the keepers, we’re damned lucky to have him represent us.

And if your hometown library’s budget’s tight these days, consider donating a copy to them as well as getting one for yourself.

Just call me unabashed loyalist for one of the good guys.

OT-bustedknuckles, raw oysters aren’t the only problem in the PNW this week.
Salem Statesman Journal

NEWPORT – State fish and agricultural officials have extended the recreational and commercial razor clam closure to include beaches and ocean spits from the mouth of the Columbia River at Astoria to Cape Perpetua, south of Yachats.

Laboratory tests indicate domoic acid in razor clams collected from the area have risen above the safe level of 20 parts per million.

Nice, huh?
