[…] As reported on the FireDogLake Blog, Senator Stevens is using Cloture to attempt to circumvent Net Neutrality and move up the vote on Telecommunications Reform. Meanwhile, in a post at Techdirt, Mike Masnick has challenged Mike McCurry to Put Up Or Shut Up, and pay Google’s bandwidth bill for the rest of the year, which McCurry has been claiming right along is $0.

[…] If you believe in true Net Neutrality, it’s time to get on the phones and try to prevent Senator Ted Stevens from calling a vote on Net Neutrality as the Senate goes into recess. Basically, no one is going to be there after Thursday and yet Stevens is going to try and get a vote through. Stevens is shooting for a cloture vote on Thursday and has plans to keep everyone in a lame duck session to force a vote on net neutrality after Congress is supposed to be in recess. If you can’t win fair and square, you try the smarmy tactics…please hit the phones.” - FireDogLake […]

look up smarmy, that’s not what it means. He probably is smarmy because politicians often pretend to agree with you when they have no intention of helping you, but behind the scenes shenanigans is not smarminess.

I agree. I use VLC also. Plays everything and plays it well

neurophius:

I saw your earlier posting regarding .mp3 players for your computer. If I could make a suggestion:
VLC player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It’s the best player I have come across. It plays pretty much anything (audio and/or visual), it is free to download and I’ve never had a problem with it.
