These recent shameless and cruel comments expose Rice and the delusional gang that is running this country. “The Birth Pangs of new Middle East” that Condi is creating can be seen in the cries and desperation of poor, dispossesed, hungry and scorched children in Lebanon. I wonder how this gang sleeps at night after causing such destruction and pain in this world. May be they are more like that Texas Chain gang who take pleasure in death destruction.

I don’t have any respect for Condi, but on a light note: she must be tired by now! She’s been flying all over the world and back to DC at least 2-3 times this week. I hope she can stay awake long enough to deliver the message.

Yep, I’m early Chico Stater. I do remember all the stuff you talk about. And Canal Street too with pizza and beer mugs. And upper Bidwell Park. All of it. Such good times. And memories. Chico has changed a lot too. And will always love it.

Tower of Power. Oh yeah! Saw them at Fillmore West in the City and in Sacramento. Recall Pioneer Days in Chico? Paradise was “paradise”, then. Too big now. Went to Paradise three years ago before moving here. Not quite the same place. Shame. Paradise had, at least at one time, when I lived there, more churches and booze stores than any other town per capita in U.S. Not sure what that says.

The stories I often heard about Baldies from old rehab friends, though, tended to go something like this: “Most raptors are twitchy. Golden Eagles are calm. Bald Eagles are psychotic. Goshawks are psychopathic. We always watch ourselves carefully around those last two.”

The one time I saw a Baldie in a rehab center, I had to agree: I watched the bird “go off” at a stranger, mantling and cussing him out furiously in eagle-ese (which is the most unlikely little chirps, twitters and peeps you’d think could come from such a monster).

You used to see them everywhere on the streets, including a lovely albino peacock who had taken up residence at the home that was our polling place for many years. I loved voting with him standing sentry in the yard.

I think the mountain lions have the population well under control now.
