So many white politicians use people of color as campaign props that there’s a certain weariness about such images. People of color are looking for leaders who relate to and serve the community, and we can sniff out the cynical, opportunistic patronizers (obviously, Dubya is the worst ever in this matter). Personally, I feel that overplaying this pic would have a slight edge of white messianic condescension (i.e. “White Man Leading the Dusty Masses Out Of the Ghetto and Into The Light”).</p> <p>Just a minor, somewhat marginal opinion. </p> <p>Anyway, Jane’s tireless work on the Lamont campaign is nothing short of awesome. If I remember rightly we had the old green bus piled with rolled up newspapers, and Paul was flinging them on to doorsteps — flinging his endorsements mind you…with great joy. Voice over was a few quotes from the editorial endorsements.
