Thanks much Howie. This is one race where the Netroots are making a difference. Eric can win, but only if we get his name out there.

I started working with Eric in the summer of 05 when Eric was committing himself fully to the netroots. He began his campaign the day after the 2004 election and has his ducks in a row. He has gotten endorsements from every County Democratic Committee (a first), he has the support of the Dem mayors of Corning and Elmira, whom he helped elect by boots on the ground training, and is supported by the labor unions. His opponent accused him of running a national campaign and not aware of the local issues. A joke, of course, because Randy Kuhl has been voting against his constituency since he went into office (and before that as a state senator), while Eric voices the frustration and needs of the citizens of NY-29. His campaign, without sacrificing boots on the ground, has reached out nationally, even forcing the DCCC to support him after they tried three times to raise a primary opponent against him (he is now unchallenged in the primary in September), he has become a Netroots Endorsed Candidate, and he is online weekly at the very least. He is a candidate for the future. He put together the Band of Brothers (Veterans for a Secure America) and while without resources to operate it as an organization, some of us have worked on F-D.com to keep this movement a cohesive force even though the candidates themselves are hunkered down in their districts fighting for… well, fighting for America! Eric Massa and Jim Webb and Joe Sestak are natural leaders of this Vet Force that Bernie Quigley has called the vanguard of the New Democrats spoken of by kos and mydd. Eric is now scheduled for a debate with Kuhl; though on a limited venue it will be a chance for Eric to go face to face with the shortgun weilding, wife abusing Bush a$$licker.

Joe Sestak is a great candidate, and there are other great Democratic military candidates running in his district–Bryan Lentz an Iraq war veteran and former prosecutor running for the state house, for example.

It’s going to be a competitive year, and hopefully a Democratic victory in November. The Republicans are scared to death that they’re going to lose it this year, though, and if anything we’re going to see the swift boating pick up come the fall–against all of our fighting Dem candidates in the PA-7

Adie at 85 has personal I.D. showing. If she was just using cut and <strike>run</strike> paste, she might not have seen her I.D. or wanted it to be there.
