Jeez, I get carpal tunnel writing to my representatives telling them to do the right thing. How many times do I have to explain the bill of rights and separation of powers to these jokers? Shouldn’t they be required to learn about the constitution in congressional orientation class?

I have an idea on why the war doesn’t register as an issue with some people.

In addition to hearing mostly propaganda from the media, older people might think this is a small number of casualties (horrific!). Compare with the Vietnam war where we had 58,000 deaths, 20 times as many. Then you had people marching in the street.

Hope we don’t have 58,000 deaths this time, but if you throw in Iraqi civilians, we’re there already. And all for a war based on lies. WMD indeed.

Like Mysterious Traveler in 126, I called Senator Schumer’s office. The nice lady said he had not yet taken a stand, “that’s why he’s called for the hearing.” I registered my strong opposition to the bill.

Also tried our junior Senator’s office in NYC, but they routed me to the DC office. It was busy, and my attempt through the switchboard resulted in a busy signal. Off the hook, or ringing off the hook?

I’ll keep trying.
