As far as Nelson, I described to his aide, who seemed ignorant of FISA, what it was supposed to do and what might happen if the Spector bill passed.</p> Called Florida Senators. Called Feinstein’s office. She too is opposed but has not issued a public statement to this effect. She already has existing legislation out there which seeks to close the loopholes the Bush administration has exploited – so that’s kind of a public statement.

I encouraged a strong public statement nevertheless, against this piece-of-crap legistlation!
