I’ll say again what I’ve been saying: the general election is over three months away. After Lieberman becomes Loserman by losing to Lamont in the primary, he will lose a lot of money and a lot of respect. Once he declares independent, he makes a lot of enemies. Everything that Lieberman loses, Lamont picks up.

If the general election were the day after the primary, I would worry. It isn’t. Unless Lamont has a very nasty skeleton in the closet, he will be the next senator from Connecticut.

[…] It’s sad the Republicans won’t go after any of their own, like the Dems have with the GOP’s favorite Democrat. The GOP has a lot of serious weirdos in power. Make no mistake about it: If Lieberman loses the primary, even with the Big Dog, Bill Clinton (a man I have great respect for, except about this) stumping for ol’ entrenched Joe, it will be a huge victory for the power of the blogosphere. The blogosphere is the ’60’s equivalent of mass protest. And it is working.

Hey guys…I am watching closely here in UK and so hope Lamont wins. I have seen recently that Bill C will be there hooting for Lieb….he has always been a clever guy politically and there are a couple of obvious reasons I can see why he is doing this…but surely Clinton is now part of the political estatablishment and soiled goods as far as integrity goes…Joe needs to lose his seat because he is a political animal letting vested interests guide his outlook as opposed to his core voters. This is a democracy…Joe is not entitled to anything…I hope Lamont wins and becomes a truly trepresentaive senator for the state and the party. May honesty and trust prevail and political shenanigans go out the window…Joe you are tainted goods and as a foreigner looking in I wouldnt buy a used car from you!!

As fate would have it, I’m lucky enough to be living in Maxine Waters’ Congressional District in California.

She is a true and righteous voice for truth, justice, and the “real” American way.

I’m betting with Steve Gilliard that she will bring more voters to Lamont than Bubba will bring back to Joe.

I think one reason Clinton is there in CT now is so that he can go back after the primary in August and, if Joe loses (still a very big “if” despite current “Lamontentum”), give him the “wise man” lecture about getting out of the race for the “good of the country and the good of the Party.”

I just hope Joe listens when Bill tells him it’s time for him to go.

FWIW, Timmeh is interviewing Friedman (who’s leaving from the studio to catch his flight to Israel/Syria) on CNBC right now.

Kathlein, that must be it. Older version of Safari. I’ve been using the latest version since I came to FDL (not long) so… Oh well, you can just proofread your posts the old fashioned way. :)

Teddy - if you’re still here - I read in my paper this morning that Boxer is leading the charge in the Senate against a bill that would criminalize the transporting of a minor across state lines to have an abortion without parental consent.

Would love to know what Cab-Ride’s position is on this bill, and how Boxer would reconcile her support of Joe if he is also against this bill, as well.

Good questions for both of them, and maybe for NARAL and PP, too, with respect to their endorsements.
