Yo any Boxer staffers out there who may be monitoring the tubes–your boss made a big boo boo. And it’s not as if she wasn’t warned.

Also, Zen usually works Sat and Sun 7a-7p. She might be covering during the week so another nurse can take vacation.

zennurse couldn’t make it on our senate visit last week but said she might be able this week (this past wed.) Last we heard from her was last weekend. We’ve called her and e-mailed and no reply. That’s why I was wondering if anyone had seen her name this week. I’ve not been on the threads a lot because of doing so many other things so I haven’t been able to look.

She has not mentioned a vacation to us.

The major reason big-name Dems are showing up for Lieberman is to encourage him to caucus with Dems if he wins. He’s still the odds on favorite and his vote might be needed to swing majority status.

Plus, Clinton is there to rub Lieberman’s face in all the rotten things he said in the run-up to impeachment, by proving he’s a bigger man than Mr. Sanctimony himself. I’m sure Clinton is saying to him something to the effect of “If I’m big enough to come campaign for you after what you said, you’re big enough to caucus with the Dems if you somehow pull this out.”

I think you are putting your finger on a very complex riddle. My feeling is that all those big guns come in before the election campaign so they have fulfilled their IOU’s. That way, they don’t have to campaign for Lieberman after the primary is over.
This primary is a testing ground for liberal values and Ned Lamont is gaining momentum. It appears, the primary is his to lose. The big guns are just trying to put their finger on a leak in the dam, but they cannot prevent the dam from breaking and then they better don’t stand in the way of the floodwaters. Conservatism (a la Lieberman) has proven to be toxic to America and Americans are poised to embrace liberalism for a change.

I just went to the PAC for a change page and voted for Claire McCaskill without having to join the mailing list.
I also wrote Senator Boxer regarding her endorsement, and have yet to get a response where she is usually prompt. She knows the fallout from this is bad– that her consituents are shocked and appalled. I hope there is a method to this madness, as I have much respect for her leadership and courage on other issues.
Liebermann is going down no matter what– he’ll sink his own ship, but it’s too bad that Boxer’s reputation is tarnished by her association with him.

She’s about 60 miles from me. Frankly the north shore of Boston is an area I’m not very familiar with, but there is a wealth of health care facilities of all kinds in the area.

I’ll keep using the usual methods, I do know that she gets behind in her e-mail sometimes. If any of you see her name pop up on a thread, ask her to check her e-mail or cell voice mail or just ask her to let me know she’s OK.

I’ve decided that Bill’s in it for the adulation he gets from the crowds, and the satisfaction of being so desperately needed by a man who once sat in judgment of him.

Boxer, on the other hand, I don’t know. She’s clearly trying to get in under the radar, so this can only be classified as a pity visit.

It’s kind of like they all know he’s terminal, but he’s in total denial, so they’re just trying to be good friends and pay their respects one last time.

On the last thread, I questioned why Lamont supporters would go to a Lieberman event, even to see Clinton. I see your points about why, and agree that with sufficient Lamont paraphernalia, the media will be hard-pressed to get any footage or even photos that do not have Lamont supporters in them. Were I a CT resident, I would keep an eye out for cameras, and position myself accordingly. Hope to see some shots of The Kiss float - if it’s there, there is no way the media won’t include it in any reporting they do.

I wonder if those running the lottery will have time to do any checking to see whether someone has given to Lamont or can otherwise be identified as a supporter.

Anyway, looks like Monday will be a big day; I just don’t see the Clinton visit helping. Barbara Boxer has probably only hurt her own cause, which is a shame, as she is otherwise a very reliable liberal.
