Cujo359 @ #80 – thanks for your comment., I’ve been reading FDL for many, many months and occasionally make comments, but surely not as a ‘troll,’ as some have suggested. FDL is one of my favourite blogs; I’ve learned a lot from Christy and Jane’s posts appreciate their wisdom and knowledge. John Casper @ 67, I did follow the Lebanon threads on here; also on Steven Gilliard, Counterpunch, Talk Left, Taylor Marsh, Wis[s]e Words, Lenin’s Tomb. Helena Cobban at Just World News has written some thoughtful observations. I am not surprised that the MSM in this country is pro-Israel, but I’m very astounded that many of the so-called liberal blogs have side stepped this conflict. And I realise that there are several important issues to discuss (stolen elections, erosion of civil and voter rights, the failed drug war, scant support in Congress for a liveable wage, the politics of crime, America’s blindness to the effects of global warming, etc.) Sure, John, I’ll support FDL – not only that, I’ll tell friends (and foes) to check out it out..

As for my comment @ #46, I’d just listened to Wednesday’s Democracy Now! Podcast, with Robert Fisk’s eloquent and shocking descriptions of the massacre in Lebanon and was moved by it.

However, I think the Moderator’s immoderate comments @ 46 set the tone, and others [especially Anne Holiday @ #84 (I.did.not.understand.that.one) and #162] just chimed in along the same lines. It also seems part of their message is, don’t comment here unless you are a regular.

wes at 97 Not sure how popular an ex-Republican like Senatorial candidate Webb in Virgina is with Firedoglake people

Wow you missed my 300 comments about Webb in the Democratic primary here. We LOVE Webb. He is the real thing.

Allen wears cowboy boots, pretending to be a he-man on a dude ranch while Webb was wearing combat boots defending our country. That may not suit everyone, but it goes down well here in Virginia.

Don’t worry about the name recognition. People know who he is. Webb!

John in Sac @ 190

Nice! I just put it on my calendar. I love Streets of London (Except during the world cup semis and the final)

See you there.

neuro at 85 I do not believe that the English language contains words monstrous enough to describe how I feel about George W. Bush for vetoing the stem cell research bill.
Any suggestions?

John Casper

I have seen the pictures. I am actually afraid of that part of the country. I know I would feel ’socially isolated’ like I feel in here in San Craptonio. But California has some excellent backpacking ( a hobby) and that’s just fine with me. No offense meant to anybody here from those states.

punaise @ 178:

‘A rolling bone gathers no sauce’.

;>)

John Casper @ 181:

‘There you go again’, lavishing praise when only a vicious campaign of blogosperic backbiting will do.

Sample:

‘darkhack, once again demonstrating the intrinsic limits of sophomoric cleverness, has yet again sullied pristine HTML with some Photoshopped piffle sure to appeal to a ragtag coterie of underwear-clad juvenile cronies’

That’ll be $1, Brooksie
