This adm has done an astonishing job of trashing US moral credibility (torture vs Geneva). Everyone in the world, save bushco, sees what a complete mess this adm has made in Afghanistan & Iraq with no coherent way out. Our military is stretched paper thin. Adm foreign policy is “we don’t need no stinkin’ diplomacy”. Why would other countries take any US objections very seriously, esp those lackluster cautions about avoiding civilian targets? There’s not exactly a mad dash to ME with a diplomatic team. Bush in Europe sings, it’s my party & I’ll play if I want to. IMO the neocon “they’ll greet us with flowers” crowd have a lot less clout than they think. I think they are way out of their league in figuring out what the strategies & goals of middle east countries may be. Who is playing who?<br /> I like the idea floated of Clinton & Bush Sr being sent to talk..which should also include others with good experience & creds. Leave Condi home.
